A windsurfer in San Francisco Bay just got the ultimate (and literal) wake-up call when he smacked right into a breaching gray whale.

The surfer, Eric Kramer, was already playing it cool and slowing down after spotting some fins nearby, but one whale decided to take “social distancing” as a mere suggestion, surfacing directly in his path. The viral video shows Kramer getting dunked in a high-stakes collision that left both man and mammal shaken, but thankfully uninjured.
