A judge said Friday that Nick Gordon is the "responsible party" in the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

Brown died in 2015 after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her home in Alpharetta.

Gordon did not show up for court Friday morning, where attorneys representing the estate of Brown laid out their arguments in a civil case.

They told the judge Gordon repeatedly ignored requests to appear in court and answer questions.

Past court documents show that Gordon pleaded the Fifth Amendment when he was asked about what happened to Brown.

Some of Brown's family members in court Friday said they were pleased with the decision but want him to be charged.

"Nick Gordon needs to be picked up. He is a murderer. He is a murderer," said Brown's aunt, Leolah Brown Muhammad.

"We wanted to establish that he is legally responsible for the injuries that proceed her death, and her death and we've done that today," said Bobbi Kristina Brown Estate attorney R. David Ware.

Attorneys will now have to prove the value of Brown's life.
