ATLANTA — Six Georgia school districts are set to receive more than $2 million in grants from the Georgia Department of Education to strengthen career, technical and agricultural education programs.

The districts receiving the Economic Development Partnership designation are Bryan County Schools, Lumpkin County Schools, Colquitt County Schools, Peach County Schools, Paulding County Schools and Haralson County Schools.

Dr. Barbara Wall, Georgia Department of Education deputy superintendent for Career, Technical and Agricultural Education, said the designation reflects the districts’ commitment to workforce development.

“We are proud to recognize the six school districts that have earned the FY26 Economic Development Partnership (EDP) designation,” Wall said.

Wall said the districts will use the money to purchase equipment for programs preparing students for careers in high demand.

“It varies based on the program,” Wall said. “It could be some medical equipment for healthcare labs, it could be industrial manufacturing type of equipment.”

“When schools and local employers are at the same table, students have more opportunities to see where their talents can take them — and communities grow,” State School Superintendent Richard Woods said.

Officials said they will work to make sure schools have equipment that meets current industry standards.
