Great Big Give Back: Call-in Physicians Care Clinic

Physicians Care Clinic (www.physicianscareclinic.org) provides healthcare to DeKalb County residents that are low income and do not have any health insurance.

They are looking for adult medical providers that can donate their time. They would be coming to the clinic from 6-8pm. The clinic is an evening clinic so it would be after work (for the non retired folks).

They would also be interested in any dentists in DeKalb that would like to donate their time. They can call our office at 404-501-7940. It would be easier for DeKalb county providers as many of our patients are on the bus route or don't have reliable transportation.

To the hip-hop fans dismayed at the lack of Atlanta representation at the Super Bowl: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Melissa Ruggieri says you can relax.

ELectronic Arts Inc. and On Location Experience will host the EA Sports Bowl at the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest on Jan. 31 with a lineup spotlighting homegrown stars including Ludacris, Migos, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby, Metro Boomin’ and a DJ set from Lil Jon.

Uber and Lyft Offer Discounted Rides to the Polls

To get the discount with Uber: launch the Uber app (make sure you've updated to the most recent version), tap Menu > Payment > Add Promo Code and enter the promotional code VOTE2018. This will allow you to request your ride using their special in-app polling place locater, though for the deal to be valid you'll have to select the most affordable tier option available in your city (e.g., Express Pool, Pool, or UberX, in that order). Just a heads up that you'll only be able to get $10 off your ride to the polls.

Lyft is handing out promo codes for 50% off your ride to your voting location on Tuesday. To get your code, you'll need to visit this page, and then plug it into your app by tapping the Promos tab. It's also important to note that the 50% off deal is only good on your ride to your polling place (and applies to a standard ride up to $5). Lyft is also taking things a bit further by providing free rides to underserved communities through nonpartisan nonprofit partners like Voto Latino, local Urban League affiliates, the National Federation of the Blind, Faith in Action, League of Women Voters, and the Student Vets of America.
