The 147th running of the race is set for Saturday at 7:01 p.m. ET at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, where nine horses are set to run the 1 3/16-mile course.

While the Preakness is the second race in the three races that make up the sport’s Triple Crown, there will not be a Triple Crown winner in 2022. Rich Strike, who was an 80-1 underdog when he won the 2022 Kentucky Derby two weeks ago, will not be running in the 2022 Preakness.

Epicenter is currently listed as the odds-on favorite of winning the race with odds at 6-5.

The Preakness was first run in 1873, and is run two weeks after the Kentucky Derby. The fastest time recorded in the race was 1:53.00 by Secretariat in 1973.
