MARION, Ind. — A husband shot a man he found at home in a bedroom with his wife hours after their separation earlier that day, police said.

Police said Robert Beck, 34, came home around 11:41 p.m. to find Brian Eccles in the bedroom with Jodi Beck, WANE reported.

There was a short argument before Robert Beck fired a .380 handgun, striking Eccles, 51, multiple times in his left arm and left part of his chest, police said. Two children aged 7 and 11 were in the home at the time. They were not injured.

Eccles was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Robert Beck was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, police said.
