Totally 80s Night

Halcyon is turning back the clock for 80s Night in the Green. Wear your best 80s costume while enjoying DJ Jake spinning all the best 80s tunes and sipping the best cocktails from participating restaurants. Test your 80s knowledge in trivia with the chance to win prizes from select Halcyon merchants. Grand prizes will be awarded to the top male and female costumes, along with several other giveaways and photo opportunities throughout the night.

Farm Animal Yoga

Yoga instructors lead participants through an Ashtanga-based Vinyasa class as baby goats or other farm animals roam the Village Green at Halcyon. Guests are asked to dress comfortably and bring their own mats and water bottles. The classes are appropriate for all levels, ages 10 and older. Tickets are $35 per person and pre-registration is required, as space is limited to 50 participants.

Movies on the Green

Catch a free movie under the stars with the new event series, Movies on the Green! On August 3 and September 5, arrive early to the free event and grab your favorite snacks at one of Halcyon’s several dining options before setting up lawn chairs and blankets in the Village Green. Movies will begin at 9 p.m. and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Celebrate all things Elvis at the Rabun County Civic Center. Elvis Tribute Artists gather to compete for the title of Big E Champion.

Underground Atlanta Tours

Launching Saturday, August 7, and continuing on the first Saturday of every month, guests are invited to purchase tickets and stroll the underground streets of Atlanta’s hidden gem. Underground Atlanta, the historic, 400,000-square-foot “city beneath the city,” invites the community to experience Underground at every level, giving attendees the opportunity to get a peek behind and below the scenes for a taste of what was, what is and what will be.

“Graham Hobart: Out of Africa and Into the West” at Booth Western Museum

Graham created a series of photographs in Africa utilizing infrared technology to highlight patterns and textures. His artistic techniques communicate what he sees into something seemingly in-between a photograph and a drawing. In 2014 Booth Executive Director Seth Hopkins commissioned a photograph from Hobart and dared him to “go out and capture the American West in his unique illustrative style as he had in Africa.” This exhibition is Hobart’s response, featuring more than a decade of his work from journeys across two continents.
