CNN will not be airing the “Parts Unknown” episode host Anthony Bourdain was filming in France when he died.
People reported that Bourdain died of suicide at age 61 in a Kaysersberg, France, hotel in June. He had been filming part of the 12th season of his travel and food show in the country’s Alsace region.
“The final original episode of “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” will be the Lower East Side, airing on November 11 2018,” a CNN spokesperson said in a statement, according to People. “After Anthony Bourdain’s tragic passing on June 8, it was determined by CNN and the series’ production company Zero Point Zero, that we would honor the work with a final season.
“From the completed footage, the producers were able to create five location episodes (including Kenya, Asturias, Indonesia, and Far West Texas) plus two specials. Alsace was not included.”
The first final episodes of the series included a look at the impact Bourdain had on food, travel and culture and his crew’s favorite memories of him, Us Weekly reported.
The premiere episode of this last season was the final one to include Bourdain’s narration. He and W. Kamau Bell traveled in Kenya.
