A new study by the Juan March Institute in Spain reveals that married men are likely to have less sex if they do a lot of housework. Dr. Sabino Kornrich says, "Couples in which men participate more in housework typically done by women report having sex less frequently. Similarly, couples in which men participate more in traditionally masculine tasks - such as yard work, paying bills, and auto maintenance - report higher sexual frequency. The results suggest that adopting traditional gender roles is important to sexual desire and performance. During the month prior to the survey, men claimed to have sex an average of 5.2 times and women 5.6 times. Couples in which women did most of the cooking, cleaning and shopping had sex more often. Wives' reported satisfaction with their sex life has the same relationship to men's participation in household labor as sexual frequency. Had satisfaction with sex been low, but frequency high, it might have suggested coercion. However, we didn't find that. Men who refuse to help around the house could increase conflict in their marriage and lower their wives' marital satisfaction. Earlier research has found that women's marital satisfaction is indeed linked to men's participation in overall household labor, which encompasses tasks traditionally done by both men and women."

A new study by Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital reveals that eating a late lunch may make you fat. Researcher Frank Scheer says, ''Those who ate before 3pm lost 30% more weight than those who dined later. Our results indicate that late eaters displayed a slower weight-loss rate and lost significantly less weight than early eaters, suggesting that the timing of large meals could be an important factor in a weight loss program. The team divided the participants into two groups: early eaters and late eaters. During this meal, 40% of the total daily calories were consumed. Early eaters ate lunch any time before 3pm and late eaters, after 3pm. Late eaters lost significantly less weight than early eaters, and displayed a much slower rate of weight loss.''
