Clearance Section: wholesaleclearance.co.uk is now selling Lance Armstrong DVDs as coasters. Site owner Karl Baxter says, ''I had snapped up the DVDs - titled The Science of Lance Armstrong - before the Texan was exposed as a cheat last summer. We are trying to think of a creative use for them. They will make good tea coasters, wind chimes or bird scarers. I'm sure someone will come up with a good idea for them, even if it's not the use originally intended. There had been rumors about Armstrong for two decades, so I didn't think it was much of a risk buying the DVDs. I was sold them in good faith, but now it appears that I have got 10,000 DVDs that nobody wants. It's one of those things in business, sometimes this sort of thing will happen. But it seems to me as though Lance Armstrong stock is pretty toxic now."
Catfish: The Boston Herald has unearthed a way to avoid being 'catfished' like Manti Te'o. They say a Google image “reverse” search can tell whether or not someone is using a fake photo online.
Step #1: download Google’s Chrome browser. It includes an enhanced version of Google’s image search.
Step #2: save the image in question to your hard drive. Do a split-screen view, with Google Chrome on one side and the image on the other. Drag and drop the image into Google’s image search. You should be able to view any other place that the picture, as well as similar-looking ones, appears on the Web.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: The home of New England Patriots star Derrick Martin was robbed while he was playing on Sunday. Two armed men burst in and held his family and friends at bay while they stole valuables. Cops are looking for the thieves.
Super Bowl Facts: Throwing America’s Biggest Party From The Sporting News
1 million ... Approximate number of people who will flock to the streets of New Orleans for Mardi Gras season, which Super Bowl XLVII falls smack dab in the middle of this year. Think of two of America's biggest parties being combined into one—that's what Feb. 3 will look like in the Big Easy. (Source: neworleanssuperbowl.com)
10 ... That's how many times New Orleans has hosted the Super Bowl, tied for most with Miami. The rest of the top five: Los Angeles (7), Tampa Bay (4) and San Diego (3). When combined, the four cold-weather locations to host the Super Bowl—Detroit, Minneapolis, New York and Indianapolis—would be fourth on the list. Lesson: No one wants to vacation north in February.
$750,000,000 ... Approximate amount of money spent on upgrades to the Superdome since Hurricane Katrina, including a "Champions Square" entertainment space outside that will serve as "Fan Plaza" on Super Bowl Sunday. (Source: nola.com)
$434,000,000 ... Estimated amount of economic activity the big game is expected to bring to the Big Easy, according to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. This still pales in comparison to annual Mardi Gras celebrations, which draw five times as many people but can't match the invaluable national exposure of the Super Bowl. (Source: nola.com)
6,000 ... The minimum number of volunteers needed to make Super Bowl XLVII a success, according to jobmonkey.com. Roles to be filled include greeting visitors at the airport and hotels, supplying directions in the city, handling hospitality at various events, and charity efforts such as building playgrounds and cooking food.
5,000 ... That's at least how many credentialed media members are expected to cover the game between the Ravens and 49ers, representing more than 20 countries and no less than 600 media outlets. (Source: neworleanssuperbowl.com)
5,000 ... This is not a repeat: that's how many pounds of hot dogs are expected to be sold during the game. As for how this relates to the 5,000 media members, feel free to draw your own conclusions. (Source: wearecentralpa.com)
$200 ... Number of dollars you can expect to pay for parking outside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on game day, as was the case last year at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. This makes Sunday a good day to own a one-acre parking lot close to the field, which could net around $25,000. And yes, you will be double-parked into your spot. (Source: @DarrenRovell, Twitter)
111,300,000 ... Number of U.S. viewers who tuned into last year's game between the Giants and Patriots, making it the most-watched program in television history. It was the third consecutive year the Super Bowl broke that record, which had been held by the series-finale of M.A.S.H. since 1983. (Source: AP)

Viagra Burns Fat
A new study by the University of Bonn reveals that Viagra burns fat. Professor Alexander Pfeifer says, ''Sildenafil (Viagra) is not only able to minimize erectile problems, but it can also reduce the risks of gaining excessive weight. Sildenafil increased the conversion of white fat cells, which are found in human 'problem areas', into beige ones in the animals. Beige fat cells burn the energy from ingested food and convert it to heat. It seems that sildenafil prevented the fat cells in these mice from getting onto that slippery slope.''

Library rep Bob Constable says, "Love Your Library Day is a marvellous opportunity for us all to celebrate the hugely important role libraries play in the heart of our local community. The pole fitness session is a fun and interesting way of encouraging more people into our libraries, trying out all the services on offer and ultimately borrowing more books. But it's not just pole fitness on offer. I'm delighted to see such a wide range of free and exciting events organised to mark this special occasion."
Showbiz Spy claims Daniel Craig is having surgery to pin back his ears. A source says, “Daniel’s always been oversensitive and self-conscious about his protruding ears — he recently confessed to the director of his super-successful Skyfall movie that all he could see while watching the film was…his ears! So he’s finally going to fix them for good.''
Kate Middleton is undergoing hypnotherapy to regain her appetite. A source tells Showbiz Spy, “Kate still looks at food and feels nauseous. She has been plagued by that feeling you have when you’ve had food poisoning and your stomach’s shrunk. She finds it very hard to eat a full meal and gets full very quickly. She will seek the help of a hypnotherapist in a bid to help with her appetite. The hypnotherapy is taking away any negative thoughts connected with food from the morning sickness, and replacing them with cravings for healthy, nutritious food. All in all, Catherine’s very happy. With so much family around her and William, they’re starting to enjoy the pregnancy after such a traumatic start.”

I'm ecstatic to be a first time dad and to have a new little buddy to hang out with. Thankfully, because of what I do, it will also allow me the flexibility to spend a lot of quality time with him. I have so many exciting projects ahead this year but a brand new baby is an amazing way to get the new year started. We feel really blessed!"
Taylor Swift is Selena Gomez's rock. Selena says, “Taylor is one of the most inspirational, positive, good-hearted people I know. I think she’s been a big part of me staying who I am, too. I’ve been through a lot in the past few months. It’s been weird and sad and cool. We have both experienced the same things at the same time … But we’ve never once talked about our industry. She just became the person I’d go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It’s so hard to trust girls, so I’m lucky to have her.”
Sheryl Crow is going to mentor Blake Shelton's team on season four of The Voice. She says, "I've been friends with Blake for a few years now and am honoured he invited me to be an adviser on The Voice this season."
