Dunne Skydiving: New Zealander Liam Dunne was recently skydiving when his parachute failed to open. He fell 13,000 feet and survived by landing in a marsh. Liam had two pins inserted into his spine and is expected to walk again. He says, "It felt like I had broken every bone in my body, and I couldn't breathe. I was just sitting there dying. I probably ought to be dead the speed I hit. Chances are I am going to walk again. The fact I am alive is what I need to hold on to."

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan passed away Monday, two months after suffering a heart attack. The actor’s fiancée, former Apprentice contestant Omarosa Manigault,  announced that the 54-year-old died in a Los Angeles hospital where he was being treated since July 13^th.  Duncan is probably best known for starring alongside Tom Hanks in the 1999 flick The Green Mile, which was based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. He received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for playing a death row inmate with powerful abilities. His other work includes: Armageddon, Planet of the Apes and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Most recently, he appeared on the now cancelled Fox series The Finder.

EMAILS SHOW PROMOTER THOUGHT JACKSON WASN’T FIT FOR CONCERTS!

The Los Angeles Times published leaked emails over the weekend that showed promoters of Michael Jackson’s 2009 comeback tour were not confident he’d be able to perform. The paper got a hold of 250 pages of messages between execs at AEG (which was financing the This is It shows) and production crew members, which are a key part of two lawsuits going to trial next year. One lawsuit involves insurance company Lloyds of London, who wants to nullify the $17.5 million policy AEG took out on Jackson, while the other  is the wrongful death suit the Jackson family has filed against AEG. While AEG has always maintained Jackson was in great shape for the concerts, the emails clearly show they were alarmed about the singer’s mental state.  In fact, at one point director Kenny Ortega told AEG exec Randy Phillips that Jackson needed a psychiatric intervention.  “There are strong signs of paranoia, anxiety and obsessive-like behavior. I think the very best thing we can do is get a top psychiatrist in to evaluate him ASAP,” said Ortega. In another email, Phillips describes a subsequent visit to Jackson’s hotel room writing to his boss TimLeiweke, “MJ is locked in his room drunk and despondent…He is an emotionally paralyzed mess riddled with self-loathing and doubt now that it is show time.”  The emails also mentioned Dr. Conrad Murray, who is now in jail for Jackson’s death. They state that Murray, who was deeply in debt and needed his $150,000 a month salary, believed Jackson was fit for the shows. Murray was described as, “... extremely successful (we check everyone out) and does not need this gig so he [is] totally unbiased and ethical.”

DIRECTOR CONFIRMS ACTRESS WAS AUDITED TO BE CRUISE’S GIRLFRIEND!

 An excerpt from an October Vanity Fair cover story claims that in 2004, high ranking Scientology officials were given the task of finding Tom Cruise a new partner, and they audited Iranian born actress Nazanin Boniadi for the job. The couple then dated from November, 2004 to January 2005. While reps for Scientology deny the story is true, Oscar-winning director Paul Haggis, a former Scientologist who very publically split with the church, told Showbiz 411 that the auditing did indeed take place, for the entire month of October 2004. Boniadi was “told to lose her braces, her red highlights and her boyfriend,” before she met Cruise the following month.  They allegedly fell in love, but after a series of incidents, Boniadi was forced to leave Cruise’s home, where she was living, and move into Scientology’s Celebrity Centre. "Naz was embarrassed by her unwitting involvement in this incident and never wanted it to come out, so I kept silent,” said Haggis. “However I was deeply disturbed by how the highest ranking members of a church could so easily justify using one of their members; how they so callously punished her and then so effectively silenced her when it was done." Haggis added that Naz “quietly resigned from the church a couple of years ago after trying to handle this injustice internally to no avail.”

RANDY JACKSON OUT AT IDOL?!

Looks like the last original American Idol judge is on his way out.  After months of speculation, sources connected to the Fox show tell TMZ Randy Jackson will indeed be leaving the judges’ table. Jackson won’t be gone entirely – he’s expected to remain with Idol as a mentor. As for the new judges, it sure sounds like Nicki Minaj will be joining Mariah Carey. Sources say Nicki’s deal is 99% done. According to the New York Post, the current snag has to do with Nicki’s affiliation with Pepsi. The cola company currently sponsors her tour, but Idol is sponsored by rival Coke. The paper also claims producers are happy about the rumors Mariah is upset over Nicki’s hiring. Insiders say they “want to see that drama between Nicki and Mariah Carey. It’ll make for good TV.” Also expected on the judging panel is country star Keith Urban. TMZ reports that a deal has not been signed with Nicole Kidman's husband yet, but it is close.

COAST GUARD RESCUES LOST CROWE!

 Russell Crowe needed a little help from the U.S. Coast Guard this weekend. The actor, who next stars in the big screen adaptation of the Broadway musical Les Miserables, was kayaking with his friend and personal trainer Chris Feather in Huntington Bay, Long Island, when it started getting dark. The pair was nearly 10 miles from shore and couldn’t find their way back. That’s when they noticed the U.S. Coast Guard patrolling the area, and Crowe called out for help. They paddled over to the boat, and the Coast Guard brought the men and their kayaks on board. "He just needed a little bit of help. He just got a little lost," U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Robert Swieciki said. "It wasn't really a rescue, really, more of just giving someone a lift." Crowe later took to Twitter to deny be was lost, writing “we knew exactly where we were.” He did add a big thanks to “the boys from the U.S. Coast Guard for guiding the way.”

TMZ reports that Karen Zolciak has filed a Petition for Visitation in GA Superior Court, demanding the right to see her four grandchildren.  Karen claims she was “portrayed as a bad person” on Kim’s reality show Don’t Be Tardy For The Wedding, which strained their relationship.  She argues that not seeing her grandkids, the youngest of which was born two weeks ago,  will cause them “emotional and physical harm,” adding that the older girls “live such a crazy, abnormal life being on TV…they need a normal haven to relax.”

DRIVERS SUE VALDERRAMA FOR BACK PAY!

Former That 70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama is being sued by two drivers who worked on his upcoming breakdance webseries King of the Floor. Thomas McNeal and James Martell claim they were told they’d get paid $10 bucks an hour for the two-day gig, but never got the cash. They are suing Wilmer for violating labor laws, and are asking for $89,515.

STODDEN GETS TURNED DOWN BY PLAYBOY!

 The porn industry may be clamoring to get 18-year-old CourtneyStodden in front of the camera, but Playboy does not feel the same way. TMZ reported last week that just after she turned 18 Courtney had received at least four offers for porn roles, and while initially she claimed to be interested, she later tweeted, “no to porn…yes to Playboy.” Well, she apparently got a big fat no from the magazine.  “Courtney doesn't meet the standards of a Playboy model,” a source at the magazine told TMZ. “[Playboy] would never take her. I don't think anybody really wants to see that anyway.”

OOGIELOVES BOMBS BIG TIME!

 The kids’ movie The Oogieloves in the BIG Balloon Adventure, which opened Wednesday, now has the distinction of holding the record for the worst opening weekend of all time for a flick playing in over 2000 theaters. The film was released in 2,160 theaters and made just $448,131 dollars, which means it earned only $207 per theater for the three day weekend.  The film surpasses the record set by 2008’s animated flick Delgo, which earned only $511,920 in its opening weekend. It too came out in 2,160 theaters.

TV TIDBITS!

● Jennie Garth and Luke Perry may not be dating as some tabloids have speculated, but they are working together. According to Garth’s rep, the former Beverly Hills 90210 costars are developing a multi-camera sitcom together. No word on what the series will be about.

● Robin Williams could be coming back to TV. The Oscar winner, who became a household name in the late 70s/early 80s in ABC’s Mork & Mindy, is attached to star in a new half-hour comedy from The Practice’sDavid E. Kelley, set in the world of advertising. CBS is said to be interested in the project.
