When Neil and I started envisioning the show we wanted to produce, we were looking for somebody who had the diversity of talent to pull off what we wanted to do. We never thought about demographics. We just needed somebody who was going to be fantastic in the show we wanted to produce."

6 Reasons Seth MacFarlane Is A Good Pick to Host the Oscars according to TV Guide

1. He's young and hip: It's no secret that the Oscars has been shamelessly targeting a younger audience. Two years ago, producers quizzically tapped Anne Hathaway and James Franco, which ended in near-disaster (more him than her). Last year, the Academy tried to go edgy with Brett Ratner as producer and Eddie Murphy as host, only for both to bail after Ratner made disparaging comments about gays and Olivia Munn. (Oscar ended up with the tried-and-true, old-school theatrical ways of Billy Crystal.) MacFarlane is a proven favorite among young males with his irreverent shows and will inject the show with a fresh, youthful energy, and daggers at the Oscars themselves. The only question is: Will those fans follow to watch him host? (The Oscars will air opposite his Fox shows.)

2. He's hot right now: His characters' kooky voices may be more recognizable than his face, but you can't deny that MacFarlane is having the best year ever: Besides having three shows on the air, his directorial debut Ted has grossed more than $400 million worldwide, his hosting gig (and Ryan Lochte impression) on SNL won raves, and he's dating the Dragon Queen.

3. He's versatile: To say MacFarlane is a multi-hyphenate is an understatement. He's an actor, voice actor, producer, writer, comedian, director and singer — nearly all of which he showcased during his thoroughly winning Saturday Night Live hosting gig last month. As such, MacFarlane won't be limited to straight-up jokes (a la comedians like Jon Stewart) or just old fashioned-style parody songs (a la Crystal). A new University of Pennsylvania study reveals that bald men appear tougher, taller, stronger, more powerful than others and are seen as having greater potential as leaders. Researcher Albert Mannes showed pictures of bald and balding men to study participants. He says, ''I was surprised that perceptions of dominance and masculinity extended to concrete, physical characteristics such as height and strength. So, whatever a man gains in dominance directly by shaving his full head of hair will be offset to some degree by his diminished attractiveness. The shaved look is more attractive than the visibly balding look. So men suffering natural hair loss may enhance both their dominance and attractiveness by shaving. These men might better improve their well-being by finishing what Mother Nature has started.''

With Oprah Winfrey off of daytime TV, DeGeneres is quickly becoming the most popular syndicated talk show host. Like Winfrey, DeGeneres is building her own roster of protégé hosts with their own shows. She's started with Bethenny Frankel, whose show had a six week test run this summer. DeGeneres is also one of the smartest business people around. JC Penney paid her a reported $20 million to be the face of the company's new, hipper image.

Tied for #4: Pop princess Rihanna ranks fourth with $53 million. The Barbados-born singer debuted on our Celebrity 100 list this year in fourth place. The celebrity list measures a mix of money and fame that includes each star's presence in social media. Rihanna ranked second overall in social media, thanks to her 26 million Twitter followers and 60 million Facebook fans.

#3: Our third ranked woman, Taylor Swift, also makes plenty of money off of touring. She earned an estimated $57 million between May 2011 and May 2012. At 22, Swift is the youngest woman on our list. The country music/pop crossover star has an amazing ability to churn out hits. Her two most recent singles, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Safe & Sound" have both gone platinum.

#2: Britney Spears earned an estimated $58 million between May 2011 and May 2012. Television and music were the best ways for women to make our highest-paid list this year and Spears earns from both. As the newest judge on "The X Factor," Spears is earning praise for her tough criticism of early contestants but she hasn't helped the ratings. The show's premier earlier this month was down 32% from last year's premier. Spears signed on to "The X Factor" for an estimated $15 million after our time frame so the $58 million she brought in is mostly from touring and album sales which are still lucrative for the 30-year-old pop star.

#1: Although she's no longer on syndicated TV, Oprah Winfrey still seems to be everywhere. She's got three shows on her still struggling OWN Network, her face still graces the cover of every O magazine and she recently appeared on the cover of our Forbes 400 issue. Now she tops our list of Hollywood's Highest-Paid Women. Winfrey, who has an estimated net worth of $2.7 billion, earned an estimated $165 million between May 2011 and May 2012.

The National Enquirer claims Justin Bieber allegedly threatened James Franco for getting close to Selena Gomez on the set of their new movie, Spring Breakers. A source says, “Justin is steaming at Selena for striking up what he considers an inappropriate relationship with James, but he’s directed most of his anger at James. Justin called Selena and said that if he’d been there, he would have beaten up James for coming on to her. Selena told him they’re just friends and to stop acting like a spoiled child. She'll dump him if he throws another temper tantrum like this."

The Situation wants to be on The Bachelor. He says, "I would. Yeah. I would be very, very genuine. It would be a good show!"

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have allegedly sworn off sex during their reconciliation. A source tells the Daily Mirror, “Sex is going to have to wait. The plan is that the two of them concentrate on each other and rebuilding their relationship. Kim Kardashian wants kids. A source tells Perez Hilton, "Kim wants getting pregnant next year to be her top priority. She says she feels suffocated by her schedule promoting the Kardashian brand. Kim and Khloé are desperate to have children. Seeing Kourtney give birth has made them even more determined."

Khloe Kardashian is close to hosting The X Factor. A source tells Hollywoodlife.com, “Khloe will be in tons of meetings this week as Lamar [Odom] is now knee-deep in training camp and will also be going to Vegas and China within the next two weeks for the Clippers. So Khloe has plenty of time for business as her lawyers, people from E!, and executives at The X Factor will try to make it happen and get all the specifics hashed out.”

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis may have kids before marriage. A source tells InTouch Weekly, “They both love kids. I think babies would come first before marriage because they both really want babies, and I don't know if he is ready to get married again."

Katy Perry is planning to hold a divorce party on what would have been her second wedding anniversary. A source tells Showbiz Spy, “Katy has been dreading October 23 for weeks now and has been trying to think of ways to turn it into something positive. It’s her birthday two days later and the last thing she wanted to do was spend that week depressed and miserable, which would then mean not doing anything to celebrate her birthday.  Eating out gets expensive, especially when you have kids.  So we've got a list here of some popular chain restaurants where kids eat FREE at least one day a week.  Here are seven of them that offer the best deals.

 #1.)  Bennigan's.  If you buy one entrée, kids eat free on the first and third Tuesdays of every month.  So, that means TONIGHT.

 #2.)  Denny's.  On Tuesday's from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, you can get up to two kids' meals for free if you buy one entrée.

 #3.)  T.G.I. Friday's. They have free kids' meals on Mondays and Tuesdays, but only for kids three and under.

 #4.)  Red Robin.  Kids eat free on Tuesday nights when you buy one adult entrée.

 #5.)  IHOP.  Every day from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, you can get one thing from the kids' menu for free as long as you order something else.
