- Sam Porcello, the man, who invented the Oreo filling, has died at the age of 76. Over 450 billion Oreos have been sold worldwide since they hit the market.


- Rob Kardashian, former "Bachelorette" Ali Fedotowsky, pop star Joe Jonas and "Fashion Police" host George Kotsiopoulos
are going to judge the Miss USA pageant on June 3rd. The winner will compete in the Miss Universe pageant.


- 20.7 million people watched the American Idol finale. It was the lowest rated finale ever.


- Phillip Phillips had 8 separate kidney surgeries during Idol. Another surgery is scheduled for next week.


- Charlie Sheen reportedly bought Lawrence Taylor's Super Bowl ring for $230,401.


- Ace Young paid $12,000 for Diana DeGarmo's engagement ring.

Illegal Download: The Recording Industry Association of America is suing LimeWire for $72 trillion even though the music downloading service no longer exists. The RIAA says over 11,000 songs have been illegally downloaded thousands of times. It’s seeking compensation for each download. The estimated worth of the entire planet is $60 trillion. LimeWire could still be ordered to pay $1 billion.

 

 

Superhero Protest: The conservative group One Million Moms is planning to protest Marvel and DC Comics because they are going to feature a same sex marriage in an upcoming X Men comic between Northstar and Kyle. They released a statement saying, “Children desire to be just like superheroes. Children mimic superhero actions and even dress up in costumes to resemble these characters as much as possible. Can you imagine little boys saying, ‘I want a boyfriend or husband like X-Men?’”

 

 

LIKE: Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg is not in danger of losing his money in a divorce because California is a community property state. Legalzoom says, "Spouses own- and owe- everything equally, regardless of who earns or spends the income. However, this only applies to assets acquired during the marriage. If the couple eventually splits, all the profits Zuckerberg made during the IPO would remain his." Mark and his wife haven't said whether or not they signed a prenup.

A new survey by the National Retail Federation reveals the average person will spend $99.94 on a graduation gift this year. Other findings:

- 58% of graduation gift givers plan to give money

- 40% of graduation gift givers plan to give gift cards.

 

Swimsuit Frenzy

Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer and the opening of many public pools. In her book, 1,001 Ways To Reveal Your Personality, Elayne J. Kahn reveals how your bathing suit color can reveal your personality.

--Black Swimsuits mean you like to stand out from the crowd, are sensuous, like to tan and love the beach.

--White Swimsuits
mean you like to control any situation you are in, have some innocence in your life and sometimes can be very provocative.

--Red Swimsuits
mean you like to be flamboyant, remembered by people who meet you, love sports and will always try anything once.

--Blue Swimsuits
mean you are always calm and collected, organized and like to follow a schedule.

Memorial Day BBQ

Over 56% of Americans will barbecue this Memorial Day weekend.

According to the National Cattleman's Beef Association, steak will be the number one grilled item followed by burgers, chicken, pork, hot dogs and fish.

Grill owners fire up their grills twice a week in the summer.

11% of grill owners received their grill as a gift

According to the Weber Grill Company, over 5,000,000 hot dogs will be eaten between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Close to 4,700,000 hamburgers will be eaten during this same time period with mustard being the number one condiment on both. The top BBQ sauces are hickory, tomato-based, honey and mesquite.

 

Chillin N Grillin

A new survey by Weber Grills reveals that 71% of Americans will grill over Memorial Day weekend. That's up 10% from last year. Other findings:

- Memorial Day weekend is the third biggest grilling occasion of the year behind the Fourth of July (90%) and birthdays (76%)

- 71% of Americans own a grill

- the three foods grilled most often are hamburgers (73%), chicken (41%) and steak (40%).

- grillers consider dessert the most challenging food to grill (35%), followed by fish (30%) and pizza (28%).

 

The Force Is Looking For Darth Vader: A man, wearing a Darth Vader mask, recently robbed a Toledo, Ohio bank. He whipped out a gun, and escaped on a BMX bike with an undisclosed amount of cash.

 

 

Fried Bacon: Farmers in Cumbria, England have been smearing their pigs with sunscreen. Farmer Graham Wadsworth says, "White skinned pigs can get sunburnt quite easily so when we are quick enough to catch them we're putting sun cream on their ears especially. We're also making sure they have mud baths which is a natural sun screen for pigs."

 

Grumpy Old Men Too: A 74 year-old Athens, Georgia man recently called 911 after his wheelchair-bound friend threatened to shoot him because he owed him $5. Both men waved canes and walking sticks at each other and then denied making threats

 

Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas may elope while in France for the Cannes Film Fest. A source tells the Post, “They’ve been telling people they’ll be spending time in Europe, and there’s speculation they’re going to get married.”

 

Demi Moore wants her daughters to stop talking to Ashton Kutcher. A source tells NOW magazine, "Demi very seriously asked them to slowly work Ashton out of their lives. It's the hardest thing she's ever asked of her girls, but she felt it was the right time. Ashton and Rumer speak every single day without fail. It became too much for Demi."

 

Josh Brolin watched the same Tommy Lee Jones movie 50 times in order to play a younger version of him in Men In Black 3. He says, "I've watched the first one so many times, probably 45 or 50 times – not exaggerating, I've seen it a lot! For me it's always enjoyable, honestly, it's one of those things where you don't have to study, you can just kind of kick back and marvel at Tommy Lee Jones' cadence and Will Smith's energy. But then the second one is different, it's almost like they're different characters, it's a very funny thing. So I always went back to the first one. When they offered me the part, I immediately said no, because how are you going to break up the iconic, you know, one of the great, iconic duos in movie history. That's how I feel, at least."

 

Kelly Clarkson's boyfriend, Brandon Blackstock, affects her songwriting. She says, “It’s killing me. I’m trying to write a tough song and it is coming out like butterflies and rainbows. It’s ruining my creativity. I’m writing all this happy [stuff] … People are going to be, like, ‘What the hell happened to you.’ It has been really difficult. I love it. Steven Tyler thinks Idol winner Phillip Phillips is going to be huge. He says, "He just don't care and that's beautiful. I said from the first, I thought he'd win, only because he's so vulnerable. I think he's going to be a movie star. I don't know why but I just think that but I look at his face and I see James Dean. He's real. We watched him go from a guy that was pulling himself out of his soul to a guy who can sing a melody line without feeling uncomfortable. He's just really evolved and he's been vulnerable."

 

Steven Tyler wasn't impressed with Mick Jagger's impersonation of him on SNL. He tells HollywoodLife.com, “Ohhh, they got it so wrong; He could have done the yeah yeah yeah! I thought he looked good with long hair, I’ve always wanted him to grow it back.”

 

Elton John was hospitalized yesterday in L.A. because of a respiratory infection. He tells TMZ, "It feels strange not to be able to perform these 'Million Dollar Piano' concerts at the Colosseum ... I love performing the show and I will be thrilled when we return to the Colosseum in October to complete the 11 concerts. All I can say to the fans is 'sorry I can't be with you."
