R.I.P.: A coroner has ruled that Whitney Houston died from an accidental drowning, heart disease and cocaine use. Whitney's sister-in-law and former manager, Patricia Houston, says, "We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure." Arlys blood alcohol level was four times more than the legal limit for humans driving. Arly was taken to a vet to sober up.

9 8 Lives: A small kitten recently stowed away in a van's engine and survived an 85-mile ride up the Northern California coast. Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter spokesman Todd Stosuy says the 8-month-old feline was probably just looking for a warm place to sleep. The van's driver discovered the cat after he stopped for gas. Stosuy says the shelter is trying to locate the cat's owner.

9 8 Lives: Sugar, a white furry cat, who is deaf, recently survived a 19-story fall from a Boston high-rise. After bouncing up from her fall, Sugar ran back into the building, rather than out onto a nearby highway. She suffered some bruising and a cut lip. Eyewitnesses say Sugar glided through the air like a “flying squirrel”.

Crabby Woman Banned From Buses and Bus Stop: The Athens, Georgia Transit Authority has banned a 27 year-old woman from their buses and bus stops because of her love for crab legs. Over the past several weeks, she has eaten the legs on bus benches and prevented others from sitting down. The woman had been warned several times about her selfish behavior.

Man Arrested For Obscene Cat Calls: The Chaska, Minnesota police recently cited a man for yelling obscenities at his cat. Neighbors called to complain about the man. His defense to officers was that he is “human.” Police said this is not the first time the man had been warned or cited for disorderly conduct.

So I downloaded the book, because there are no bookstores where I live -- I'm on a small island with a town of about 400 people -- and read the book. The story just captured me. I had been working all day and night in the studio and I go to bed kind of early there -- because I kind of start going with nature, walking up really early because it's in the middle of nowhere. I was really tired, but each chapter, I was like, "Shit! I can't put this thing down!" And so I called him back the next day and I said, "I'll be there. I'd love to make this film."
