100 Rat Dinner: Artist Laura Ginn hosted a $100 rat dinner in New York last week. Guests ate goat cheese bruschetta with rat tenderloin, rat-pork terrine, rat braise and French toast with smoked rat for dessert. Her dinner was called "Tomorrow We Will Feast Again on What We Catch." Rat carcass parts, rat spines and rat ribs were used as table centerpieces. Ginn wore a dress made from 300 rat pelts.

A Real Housewives of Beverly Hills marriage has bitten the dust.  Yesterday, star Adrienne Maloof released a statement confirming reports that she and husband Dr. Paul Nassif are separating. “I'm so sorry that this is happening but my children are my life and sometimes we need to do what's best for them,” said Adrienne. “It's an unfortunate situation but, I have to have my kids' best interest at heart.” Not long after, Paul filed the petition to become legally separated from Adrienne. Director Peter Jackson has confirmed the rumors that the upcoming Hobbit movies will now be a trilogy. "We (the film’s producers) recognized that the richness of the story of The Hobbit, as well as some of the related material in the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, gave rise to a simple question: do we tell more of the tale? And the answer from our perspective as filmmakers and fans was an unreserved 'yes,’” wrote Jackson on his Facebook page. The first flick, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters December 14^th, with the second, There and Back Again, due out December 13^th, 2013. Movie fans sure love their Star Wars memorabilia.  A Chewbacca headpiece from the original Star Wars trilogy sold for a whopping $172,000 at an auction over the weekend. The item, described as the finest “screen correct” Wookie headpiece, also included signed photographs from Peter Mayhew, who played the character in the movies. Also sold at the auction was a screen-used blaster rifle from the first flick, which went for $104,550.

MOTHER CREATORS PLANNING SHOW’S END!

How I Met Your Mother is about to begin filming season eight, but CBS execs over the weekend said they’d like the show to continue for a ninth season. Although no deal is in place, it sounds like another season will likely happen. This, of course, means fans may have to wait even longer before finding out who the “mother” is, but for now, creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are working as if season eight will be the last. “We are shooting the premiere to launch the final season of How I Met Your Mother,” Thomas told Vulture over the weekend. “Whether it’s the final season or not, I don’t know. But the premiere sets us up to end it.”  As for whether they’ve cast the mother yet, Thomas would only say, “I can’t tell you, I can’t tell you.” He does insist they plan to keep the casting a secret as a surprise to viewers.

Ali Lohan’s modeling career is taking her to South Korea. TMZ reports that Lindsay’s 18-year-old sister will be in Korea for the next month with three or four other models trying to book gigs in the Asian market. ● Joss Whedon’s online musical is coming to TV.  Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day, will premiere on The CW, Tuesday October, 9^th at 9 pm.  The series first aired online in 2008.

● ABC has yanked the Fred Willard hosted improv series Trust Us With Your Life. The move comes two weeks after Willard was busted for lewd conduct in an adult movie theater.  Reruns of Wipeout will air in its Tuesday night timeslot.

● Glee creator Ryan Murphy will be honored with the 2012 International Emmy Founders Award, which “recognizes an individual who crosses cultural boundaries to touch our common humanity.”  He’ll receive the honor at the 40^th International Emmy Awards Gala on Monday, November 19^th in New York City.

● Looks like A&E’s reality show Cajun Justice probably won’t be around for another season.  The series followed Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois and his deputies as they fought crime in the Louisiana swamps. Unfortunately for A&E, Bourgeois is no longer Sheriff, and the new guy, Jerry Larpenter, fired 24 people on his first day in office, including 5 of the show’s 7 cast members, with a six member quitting. In addition, Larpenter has banned cameras from following anyone in his department.

● Sharon Stone and Carrie Fisher have joined the list of stars on board for Saturday’s Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne.Jane Lynch will host the event, which also features appearances by Katey Sagal, Seth Green, and comedians Jeffrey Ross, Amy Schumer and Anthony Jeselnik. The Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne will air Sunday, August 12^th.

● The upcoming season of America’s Next Top Model will be a college edition. The show, which this season will feature a new judging panel made up of Tyra Banks, Kelly Cutrone and male model Rob Evans, kicks off Friday, August 24^th on the CW.

● Showtime is bringing back The Big C. The network has picked up a short fourth season of the Laura Linney drama, comprised of four one-hour episodes.

● The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Warner Bros. is thinking about making a prequel to the 1980 Jack Nicholson classic The Shining. Based on the Stephen King novel, the original starred Nicholson as Jack Torrance, who gets a job as caretaker of the Overlook hotel after a previous caretaker murdered his family and committed suicide.
