Holmes Update: James Holmes allegedly wanted to kill Christian Bale. A source tells Perez Hilton, "He [Holmes] wanted to kill Bale who plays Batman, along with the rest of the cast and God knows how many innocent people. In his sick fantasy he wanted to strike a blow on Gotham City which represents New York City in the movie. It was the fantasy of this deranged monster."

Holmes outlined his plot in a notebook he sent to a University of Colorado professor. A source says, “Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people. There were drawings of what he was going to do in it -- drawings and illustrations of the massacre."

Kiss In: The gay rights group Equality Illinois is planning a Chick-Fil-A “kiss-in” on Friday August 3rd. They want gay and lesbian couples to kiss outside Chick-Fil-A restaurants because the restaurant's president opposes same-sex marriage. Chicago and Boston are blocking new Chick-Fil-A's from opening.

Katherine says, "I am devastated that while I've been away, my grandchildren have been taken away from me, and I'm coming home. There are rumors going around about me that I have been kidnapped. I am here today to let everybody to know that I am good and fine. My children would never do anything to me like that. One reason I didn't call is I just gave up my phone and I didn't want to have any phone calls while I was here."

Baumgartner was in a freefall for 3 minutes and 48 seconds . His top speed reached 536 mph. He is planning a 125,000-foot jump next month.

Top Dog: New York's 230 FIFTH rooftop lounge is selling a $2,300 hot dog. It features marbled Wagyu beef, a toasted brioche bun, white truffle butter, organic, saffron-infused W Ketchup, caviar, homemade sauerkraut, a shimmering gold leaf, caramelized onions that have been cooked in Dom Perignon Champagne and $389 100-year-old balsamic vinegar.

Taylor Swift's parents are allegedly splitting after 25 years of marriage. A source tells the Star, After nearly 25 years of marriage, her parents have separated! She's been going through a lot. "The new album will showcase the pain of her parents' separation. "The Swifts stopped wearing their wedding rings. They haven't filed for divorce because they don't want it to damage Taylor's career. Andrea being on tour with Taylor full-time has really been hard on her relationship with Scott.''

 Joe Perry says Steven Tyler being on American Idol didn't grow Aerosmith's younger fan base. “We really saw it when we did ‘Guitar Hero’ in 2008. That really hit our demo. I know he really wanted to go back to the show if they asked him, but when the record started gathering momentum and the thought of going out and being locked into another year…as much as he enjoyed doing [‘Idol’], I think he missed being in the band full time. Not that I ever felt he wasn’t present 100 percent for the band.”

I just thought her music and her taste in music was so connected to old soul music and the original Motown and Otis Redding and Sam Cooke and things like that.  STEWART APOLOGIZES FOR CHEATING!

Kristen Stewart yesterday acknowledged that she cheated on her Twilight co-star/boyfriend Robert Pattinson with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, a story first reported by Us Weekly, which obtained pictures of their make out session. "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” said the 22-year-old. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry." The 41-year-old Sanders, who is married to model/actress Liberty Ross,  also released a statement, adding, "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together." Interestingly, after word of the fling got out, Sanders' wife Liberty tweeted the cryptic Marilyn Monroe quote “Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”  Then, after she started following Us Weekly,  she tweeted “wow,” and signed off her account.

TJ JACKSON APPOINTED TEMPORARY GUARDIAN OF MICHAEL’S KIDS!

Tito Jackson’s 34-year-old son TJ was named temporary guardian of  Michael Jackson’s kids yesterday. The judge in the case suspended Katherine Jackson’s guardianship and ordered Michael’s estate to send TJ the funds necessary for taking care of Paris, Prince and Blanket. Before the ruling was handed down, TJ informed the judge that he got recently got a strange phone call from his grandmother. “I've never heard my grandmother talk like that,” TJ explained. "She wasn't sharp.  The pauses, choice of vocabulary ... she has not used certain phrases like that before."  TJ thought she may have been talking in some sort of code.  TJ’s lawyer said within the next 48 hours he plans to move to get his client named permanent guardian of the children.

KATHERINE JACKSON SOUNDED DRUGGED DURING PHONE CALL!

TMZ claims Katherine Jackson called the family home in Calabasas, CA at 2 am and again at 4 am Wednesday morning ordering the current security team be fired and replaced by Janet’s security. Sources say Katherine sounded “drugged” at the time, and also tried to order Trent Jackson off the property. Trent and Jackson’s current security stopped Randy, Jermaine and Janet from taking the kids to Arizona on Monday.  Insiders believe Randy may have drugged his mother. Randy, meanwhile, took to Twitter to clear up TMZ’s story. He claims Katherine did call to fire Trent and the security team but it was t 9 pm, not at 2 or 4 am. Randy did not comment on reports Katherine sounded like she was drugged. Randy also suggested that TJ, who was yesterday named Paris, Prince and Blanket’s temporary guardian, asked Katherine first if he could be the guardian and she said no.

Meanwhile, Katherine has finally broke her silence calling into ABC News yesterday. "There are rumors going around about me that I have been kidnapped," Jackson said. "I am here today to let everybody to know that I am good and fine." She added, “My children would never do anything to me like that." When asked about leaving Paris, Prince and Blanket without a guardian, Katherine said she wanted to take a “short vacation.” She explained, “One reason I didn't call is I just gave up my phone and I didn't want to have any phone calls while I was here." As for today’s ruling temporarily transferring guardianship of the kids to Tito’s son TJ, Katherine said she is “devastated,” saying it's  “based on a bunch of lies.” Added Katherine, “my grandchildren have been taken away from me, and I’m coming home.”

Meanwhile, the plot to keep Katherine away from her family has apparently backfired. Publicity surrounding her sudden “trip” to Arizona has gotten so bad, the family has given in and Randy Jackson told Good Morning America yesterday his mother was on her way back to California. [See yesterday’s About Last Night Morning for audio.] Randy, along with siblings Janet and Jermaine, allegedly plotted to get Katherine out of the house so they could convince her to side with them in an attempt to get the executors (lawyers John McClain and John Branca) of Michael’s will removed.  According to TMZ, Randy was the ringleader behind the plan.

PARIS TWEETS APOLOGY!

It’s a tumultuous time for the Jackson family, with accusations of kidnapping, slapping and a plan to steal Michael’s money floating around. But after days of tweeting her anger about the feud, even promising to “make whoever did this pay,” Paris Jackson seems to have calmed down. Late Tuesday she tweeted, “a lot of pple have been saying that I ‘changed.’ I wanna apologize for the attitude…there’s just a lot going on…I promise: the ego = gone.”   TMZ claimed Tuesday that Paris’ aunt Janet Jackson called her a “spoiled bitch” and slapped her, an accusation Paris is denying. When someone on Paris’ instagram account asked whether Janet hit her, Paris simply replied, “nope.”

Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady have yet to confirm the rumors they are expecting, but the supermodel said all she needed to say this week when she stepped out in a bikini on the beach in Costa Rica. SCOTT DISICK’S CRIMINAL PAST!

Star magazine claims to have explosive news about Scott Disick’s former life of crime, although he doesn’t really have a criminal record.  A model named Brittany Reichek, who claims to be a former friend of Scott’s, says that in his late teens, Kourtney Kardashian’s baby daddy used to pick up women, tape himself having sex with them, and then steal from them.  "Scott and one of his buddies had a system,” claims Brittany. “They would pass themselves off as wealthy stockbrokers, pick up girls in the clubs in the Hamptons, get drunk with them, then take them back to their parents’ homes and claim the houses were their own. When the time was right, Scott and his friend would go through their handbags and steal just about anything they could get their hands on.”  Brittany claims these incidents happened “more than 50 times in the years I was around him.” Not surprisingly, a rep for Scott denies the story.

FRINGE DELAYED DUE TO STAR’S SLEEP DISORDER!

Production on Fox’s Fringe has been shut down for two weeks while star John Noble (Walter Bishop) is being treated for a sleep disorder. Sources tell TMZ Noble “has not been sleeping well.”  Earlier this week, Noble was absent for the show’s panel at the Television Critics Association press tour, reportedly because he was “under the weather.” Filming is expected to resume on August 7^th. The delay in production is not expected to affect the show’s September 28^th season premiere.

BRAND TO BE CHARGED IN IPHONE TOSS!

Russell Brand is expected to be prosecuted for throwing a paparazzo’s iPhone through a glass window in New Orleans back in March.  TMZ reports Brand will be charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property. Brand turned himself into New Orleans police on March 15^th. He explained his actions in a tweet, writing, "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory." Brand faces six months in jail if convicted.

CELEBRITY REHAB STAR EXPOSED KID TO METH!

Former Celebrity Rehab star Kari Ann Peniche is being accused by her estranged husband of exposing their ten-month-old son to methamphetamines. Justin Williams is claiming in court docs that after suspecting Kari Ann had fallen off the wagon, he took their son for a hair follicle test and it came back positive for meth.  Justin says he has evidence that Kari Ann has been using drugs for the past two months and wants a judge to strip her of custody because he believes their baby is in danger. Justin wants sole legal and physical custody of their child, with Kari Ann only getting supervised contact. He also wants her to submit to weekly drug tests. If she fails, he wants visitation revoked entirely.

SISTER WIVES FAMILY SUES UTAH!

Sister Wives star Kody Brown and his family have sued the state of Utah in an attempt to get a federal judge to rule the state’s bigamy law is unconstitutional.  Kody and his clan fled Utah after the state said they were investigating the family, although charges were never filed against them.   Currently, bigamy is a third degree felony in Utah which is punishable by five years in prison. The state, however, has publically said they don’t plan to prosecute consenting adult polygamists unless they are accused of other crimes.

JEPSEN PHONE HACKED/NUDE PICTURES BEING SHOPPED!

Reports earlier this week of a Carly Rae Jepsen sex tape turned out to be false, but TMZ claims there are nude pictures of Carly being shopped to media outlets. According to the site, the photos in question were stolen by someone who hacked into her phone. Cops say Carly’s people found out the hacked photos were on the market back in March and immediately called the Vancouver police department. An investigation is reportedly underway, and cops may already have a suspect. So far the pictures have not seen the light of day.

RYAN MURPHY RESPONDS TO NEW NORMAL PROTEST!

Ryan Murphy doesn’t seem worried about the One Million Moms proposed boycott of his new NBC comedy The New Normal, about a gay couple who hire a surrogate to have a baby. "I've obviously been through that before," said Murphy, referring to controversies surrounding his other shows like Glee and American Horror Story. "I always find it to be interesting for people to make that decision before they've even seen it. The show is about tolerance -- it's a discussion of tolerance. Actually, if they watched it, I think they would like it." The show’s star Andrew Rannells actually seems okay with all the publicity. "I was very excited that I was mentioned by first and last name in the boycott," Rannells said. "I was very honored and pleased. My first boycott!"  The New Normal premieres Tuesday, September 11^th.

Katy Perry has signed on to be the celebrity spokesperson for Popchips. Perry will serve as an “ambassador” for the low calorie snack, and will also invest in the brand and act as a creative partner. "I was hooked after my first bite!" said Katy in the company's press release. "When I discover something good, I want to share it with everyone I know, so I tweeted about it." Katy isn’t the only celebrity to endorse Popchips. Ashton Kutcher also promotes the brand. Back in May the company got into hot water when they produced an ad featuring the Two and a Half Men star in brown face.

Kate Hudson has agreed to be the face of Ann Taylor for three more seasons.  “I am really excited to continue as the face of Ann Taylor," said Hudson.  "My experience with the Ann Taylor family has been collaborative and fun and that means everything to me.”

COSTNER SUES OVER ROBIN HOOD MONEY!

Kevin Costner is suing the studio behind his 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, claiming he hasn’t received any profits from the flick in the past two years.  Costner didn’t hold anything back in his suit against Morgan Creek, writing, “if you're hoping to earn profits based on the success of your film and you want to be paid on a timely basis, then one company you certainly do not want to do business with is Defendant Morgan Creek Productions." Costner claims the studio promised to share profits of the film with him, but they have not. The film grossed about $390 million worldwide, not including the money it made from home video and TV.

CHAD EVERETT DIES

Chad Everett, who starred for seven seasons on CBS’s Medical Center in the 70s, died Tuesday of lung cancer. He was 75.  In addition to Medical Center, which at the time was one of the longest lasting medical shows in TV history, Everett also starred in the 1963 TV Western The Dakotas, and appeared in David Lynch’sMulholland Drive in 2001.  More recently he guest starred on CBS’s Without a Trace, and appeared in a February episode of ABC’s Castle.

MISCELLANEOUS MOVIE NEWS!

● Peter Jackson’s upcoming epic The Hobbit was originally supposed to be only two movies, but now fans may get more. According to the Hollywood Reporter,  Jackson and Warner Bros. are reportedly in serious discussions about turning the project into a trilogy. So far there’s no word on exactly what new material will be featured in the third film. The first Hobbit flick, An Unexpected Journey, is due in theaters December 14^th.

● Jon Favreau has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese’sThe Wolf of Wall Street. He’ll play a securities lawyer in the film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio as real-life shady stock broker Jordan Belfort, who eventually went to prison.

● In light of Friday’s shootings at a Colorado screening of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. has postponed the release of the Ryan Gosling/Sean Penn flick Gangster Squad in order to reshoot a scene involving a movie theater shooting. The film was originally due out September 7^th, but now will likely hit theaters January 11^th. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the studio is still trying to determine whether they can get the cast together quickly for the reshoots.  The film tells the story of the Los Angeles police department’s attempt to control the Mafia in the 40s and 50s.

TV TIDBITS!

● NBC has given a 10-episode order for a new Dracula series starring The Tudors’Jonathan Rhys Meyers.  The series, from the makers of Downton Abbey,  is set in London in the 1890s and finds Dracula leading a double life as an American businessman trying to bring modern science to Victorian society, when what he really wants to do is exact revenge on those who ruined his life centuries ago. His plan hits a snag when he falls in love with a woman who appears to be the reincarnation of his dead wife.

● MTV has renewed Awkward for a third season.

● Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are sticking around Comedy Central. The network signed new deals with both stars, keeping Stewart at The Daily Show through the middle of 2015 and Colbert with The Colbert Report through the end of 2014.
