MOM BLAMES DENTAL WORK FOR SAGE STALLONE’S DEATH

The mother of Sage Stallone says she fears her son died because of extensive dental surgery he recently had done. Two weeks before his death, Sage had five teeth extracted and Sylvester Stallone’s ex-wife Sasha Czack tells the New York Post she pleaded with her son not to have all his surgery done in one day. She thinks  Sage may have overdosed on painkillers because he was in so much pain from the procedures. “I told him not to do that. I've heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth,” she told the paper. When asked if Sage was on pain medication, she replied, “Wouldn't you be?”

Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise were involved in a fender bender in New York City Monday night. The incident occurred shortly after Katie picked her six-year-old daughter up from gymnastics class at the Chelsea Piers. Their Mercedes, driven by Holmes’ security guard, was sideswiped by a garbage truck. No one was injured, but the car was damaged a bit. Meanwhile, Us Weekly reports that Tom Cruise flew to New York yesterday to visit his daughter, the first time he’s seen Suri since Katie filed for divorce last month. Sources tell TMZ Tom won’t have any contact at all with Katie, and that Suri will be picked up and returned through intermediaries.

Radaronline reports Ashton Kutcher is to blame for Demi Moore’s estrangement from her three daughters. Apparently the family is fighting because Demi is upset her daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, have remained friends with Ashton, despite the fact he cheated on their mother. “The girls have all stayed friends with Ashton, and that is infuriating Demi,” claims a source. “She doesn’t understand how they could stay close with Ashton after he humiliated her and she’s asked them to stop talking with him but they refuse.” The source says Demi “can’t let go and can’t get over it,” and the girls “have had it with her over that.”

HANDLER MOST OVERPAID TV STAR!

A new report by the Los Angeles Times reveals that comedian Chelsea Handler is the most overpaid star on TV. The paper came to its conclusion by dividing the annual salaries of certain TV stars by the average number of viewers their show attracts. In Chelsea’s case, she earns $16.70 per viewer, since she’s paid $12 million and Chelsea Lately has only .7 million viewers. Also making the overpaid list is Anderson Cooper, who makes $13.54 per viewer, and David Letterman, who makes $9.69. On the flipside, Ashton Kutcher is one of the most underpaid TV stars, despite a salary of $17 million a year. Since Two and a Half men averages 14.7 million viewers, he makes only $1.16 per viewer. Also underpaid is Ryan Seacrest, who earns only $.75 per viewer as host of American Idol. Ryan makes $15 million for the show, and Idol brings in over 20 million viewers.

GORDON-LEVITT UPSET OVER GQ ARTICLE!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt appears on the cover of this month’s GQ, but he’s not happy about the article that appears inside. The actor, who stars in The Dark Knight Rises (opening Friday), is upset that the reporter writes his older brother Dan died of a drug overdose in 2010.  "I’m writing this because I have a problem with what their article says about my brother.  I’ll be honest, it really made me feel terrible,” read a message on the actor’s Facebook page. The article mentioned the overdose and claimed that Gordon-Levitt would only Dan’s death “was an accident.”  Writes Gordon-Levitt, “The 'allegations' to which [the writer] must be referring were made by a handful of gossip websites.  They are factually incorrect according to the coroner’s office and the police department." Although he doesn’t like to talk about his brother’s death, he said he made an exception “to correct this irresponsible claim.” He adds, "By the way, while I asked the writer not to dwell on how he died, I did say quite a bit about how he lived, and how much he means to me.  Dan was a brightly positive, genuinely caring, and brilliantly inspiring person, and I liked the idea of such a wide readership learning about him.  My parents and I are disappointed with what the article chose to focus on regarding this sensitive subject."

DOCTORS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT DUNCAN RECOVERY!

The Green Mile’sMichael Clarke Duncan, who suffered a heart attack Friday, is still in a hospital but sources tell TMZ he “is fighting like a mutha.”  Michael is still on a respirator but he’s “breathing above” the machine, which is good.  Tests show Michael has a “very strong heartbeat,” so doctors are optimistic he’ll recover.

LOUIS C.K. DIDN’T DEFEND RAPE JOKES!

Comedian Louis C.K. wants everyone to know he wasn’t defending rape jokes when he tweeted about Daniel Tosh last week. Tosh had come under fire for saying  “rape jokes are always funny” during a standup routine (he has since apologized).  As the controversy grew, Louis tweeted, “@danieltosh your show makes me laugh every time I watch it. And you have pretty eyes” which some felt was a show of support for Tosh.  But during his appearance on The Daily Show Monday, Louis explained he  knew nothing of the controversy when he made that tweet. Louis said he was on vacation in Vermont, where he was detoxing from the internet, and only wrote the tweet because he had watched Tosh’s Comedy Central show and wanted to express his appreciation for it. “I’ve been called a rape apologist because I said hi to a guy,” C.K. joked to Jon Stewart.

"They started dating three months ago. They seem to be really happy together, but are trying to take things slow."

Kim Kardashian’s ex is staying on the east coast. Kris Humphries yesterday signed a two-year, $24 million deal with Jay-Z’s Brooklyn Nets.  In announcing the news, Kris took a jab at Kim’s new beau Kanye West, who rapped about Humphries on “Cold” (previously called “Theraflu”), saying “Lucky I ain’t had Jay drop him from the team.” Tweeted Kris, “I’m up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ ‘lucky I didn’t have Jay drop me from the team’ lol!”

● Pulp Fiction’sAmanda Plummer has reportedly joined the cast of Catching Fire, the second installment in The Hunger Games franchise. She’ll play Wiress, a former Hunger Games winner called back for The Quarter Quell, an all-star edition of the games in which past victors are forced to once again compete against each other in a fight to the death.

● Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan will star in the indie romantic comedy The F Word, about the lives of two twentysomethings who meet at a party and hit it off.  Kazan will next be seen in Ruby Sparks, a movie she wrote and stars in alongside her real-life boyfriend Paul Dano. It opens July 25^th in select cities.
