Them's fightin' words!
Elton John lost to Madonna at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, where the Material Girl won for Best Original Song (Motion Picture) for "Masterpiece," which she wrote for W.E., which she also directed.

And John's husband, David Furnish, was unhappy about the loss. (Madonna beat out John's "Hello Hello" from the film Gnomeo & Juliet plus three other contenders, including Mary J. Blige's "Living Proof" from The Help.)
Shortly after the 53-year-old pop singer's name was called, Furnish wrote on his Facebook page: "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!"
After Madonna's acceptance speech -- the orchestra even started playing in an attempt to cut her off -- Furnish's rant continued.
"Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism," he wrote. "And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."
Last week, Madonna gave several interviews in the press accusing her pop queen successor Lady Gaga of ripping off her classic "Express Yourself" in "Born This Way," calling the latter track "reductive."
But, backstage at the Globes, Madonna was hopeful that her win wouldn't irk John, 64. "I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years," she quipped. "He's been known to get mad at me so I don't know. He's brilliant and I adore him so he'll win another award. I don't feel bad!"
CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — A newly discovered horse fly in Australia was so "bootylicious" with its golden-haired bum, there was only one name worthy of its beauty: Beyonce.
Previously published results from Bryan Lessard, a 24-year-old researcher at Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization, were recently announced on the species that had been sitting in a fly collection since it was captured in 1981 — the same year pop diva Beyonce was born.
He says he wanted to pay respect to the insect's beauty by naming it Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae.
Lessard said Beyonce would be "in the nature history books forever" and that the fly now bearing her name is "pretty bootylicious" with its golden backside.
"Bootylicious" was the title of a song by Beyonce's previous group, Destiny's Child.
It's unknown if the rare species is a bloodsucker like many female horse flies. Lessard says he was unable to find any live specimens when he went looking in 2010 in northeast Queensland's Atherton Tablelands, where it was captured three decades ago. However, at least one member of the public has alerted him that he was recently bitten by what's locally called the "gold bum fly."
The description of the fly was earlier published in the Australian Journal of Entomology, but the results were announced last week.
Lessard says he hasn't heard from Beyonce, who recently gave birth to her first child, but he is a fan and hopes she will take his scientific gesture as a compliment. He also said the name was picked to help draw attention to the importance of his field and the need for more researchers to catalog and study insects.
Horse flies are "vital pollinators of native plants, not just in Australia, but all over the world," Lessard said. "It's extremely important to name all the undescribed species so we can measure our human impact on the environment and hopefully protect it for future generations to enjoy."
From fried chicken to mac and cheese casseroles, Paula Deen has made her mark on the culinary world – and in the homes of fans – with recipes that don't skimp on cheese, cream and sugar. Not to mention butter ... whole sticks of it.
And even as she reveals that she is living with Type 2 Diabetes, she says it won't stop her from eating the way she wants.
"I was determined to share my positive approach and not let diabetes stand in the way of enjoying my life," Deen said Tuesday in a release announcing her launch of Diabetes in a New Light™, geared toward finding "simple ways" to manage challenges of the disease.
"I'm excited to team up with Novo Nordisk on this initiative to show others that managing diabetes does not have to stop you from enjoying the things you love."
The National Enquirer first reported Deen's diabetes in April 2010, but she never confirmed or denied the diagnosis until now. She turns 65 Thursday.
The Food Network chef with the folksy Southern drawl – and a tendency to address her fans as "Hey, y'all" – has been famously criticized for her cooking techniques. Just last summer, fellow celeb chef Anthony Bourdain called her the "most dangerous person to America" who's "proud of the fact that her food is f------ bad for you."
And as news leaked she was making the announcement regarding her health, Bourdain was inundated with people "looking for quotes." And he says he "takes no pleasure" in her news, telling Eater.com, he suspects she's known for a long time and been looking for a way "to position herself."
"When your signature dish is hamburger in between a doughnut, and you've been cheerfully selling this stuff knowing all along that you've got Type 2 Diabetes ... It's in bad taste if nothing else," he said. "How long has she known? I suspect a very long time."
Deen, it was also revealed in the release, takes Victoza – a once-daily, non-insulin injection – and continues to "make lifestyle adjustments, including lightened-up versions of her favorite recipes."
