Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomes Baby girl Blue Ivy Carter

2012 is off to a wonderful start for Beyonce and Jay-Z!

The singer, 30, gave birth to a baby girl in New York on Saturday, according to various outlets, including Good Morning America and her hometown paper, the Houston Chronicle, which reported that "baby and mom are doing just fine."  GMA reports the superstar gave birth via C-section.

"Welcome to the world, Blue," Beyonce and Jay-Z's close friend Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted Sunday. "We love you already."

The actress also answered a "confused" fan who asked if the infant's name is "Ivy Blue or Blue Ivy," saying, "It's Blue Ivy!'

According to GMA, the couple chose "Ivy" because of the significance of the number "4" or "IV," --  Beyonce and Jay-Z were born on Sept. 4 and Dec. 4, respectively, were married on April 4, 2008, and Beyonce's latest album is entitled 4.)

It's the first child for the "Love on Top" singer and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Carter), 42. An observer at NYC's Lenox Hill Hospital told Us Weekly that Jay-Z was spotted walking the hospital halls Saturday morning looking "happy." Beyonce's family members -- sister Solange, parents Tina and Mathew Knowles -- were also spotted at the facility with "flowers with pink balloons and silver and black ribbons," the witness added.

Katy Perry is ‘Grateful’ for Fan Support

It seems Katy Perry is taking the good with the bad in light of her recent split.

The singer took to her Twitter account on Saturday to let her fans know what they've meant to her during this trying period, writing, "I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again."

Perry, 27, wed comedian Russell Brand, 36, in India in October 2010. Brand filed for divorce on December 30, 2011, citing irreconcilable differences.

Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott Gets Married!

Release the doves!

Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott is a married woman. Her rep tells Us Weekly she and Chris Tyrell wed Saturday just before sunset in upstate New York surrounded by family and close friends.

The bride wore a custom Vera Wang strapless mermaid dress with abstract all-over lace underlay, layered tulle skirt with horsehair banding and hand-cut corded lace applique with hand-applied crystal and pearl beading. She complemented the gown with a mantilla veil with hand-cut chantilly lace applique. The groom donned a gray Ermenegildo Zegna suit.

Scott, 25, posted a video on her band's site Sunday to announce the good news. "We got married! We just wanted you to hear it from us first," Scott gushed after showing off her wedding ring. "We love you. We're so excited to be starting our life together, and we just had to let you in on the excitement."

Tyrell the lead drummer of country music trio Love and Theft, first met the "Run to You" singer when they each served as opening acts on Tim McGraw's Southern Voice Tour in 2010.

Over the Fourth of July weekend, Tyrell popped the question to Scott while the two were enjoying a day at the lake in Tennessee.

‘24’ Movie to begin shooting this spring

PASADENA, California (AP) — Fans of Jack Bauer have something to look forward to. A movie based on the old Fox series "24" is scheduled to begin shooting this spring.

Actor Kiefer Sutherland said Sunday that he expects to go to work on the movie in late April or May. Sutherland played Bauer, the centerpiece on the pulse-quickening adventure series that ended its television run in 2010.

Even with the movie ahead of him, Sutherland is already working on a new Fox series. "Touch" features him as the father of a super-intelligent son. Fox will offer a sneak preview of the show Jan. 25 before it joins the network schedule in March.

"Forrest Gump’ actor Sinise to raise money for vet

TEMECULA, California (AP) — Gary Sinise, known for playing a soldier who loses his legs in the film "Forrest Gump," wants to stage a benefit concert to raise money to build a home in Temecula, California, for a Marine who lost his limbs in Afghanistan.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Sinise, now starring in TV's "CSI New York," is expected to ask the Temecula City Council on Tuesday if he can hold a concert tentatively on March 1.

Sinise's Lt. Dan Band, named for his movie character, would perform and raise money for Marine Lance Cpl. Juan Dominguez, who lost his legs and right arm in 2010.

The Gary Sinise Foundation and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation have built several such homes for wounded veterans.

Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop arrested!

MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man with an unusual name is in jail after police said he violated his bail conditions from a previous run-in with the law.

Thirty-year-old Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop is tentatively charged with carrying a concealed knife, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and a probation violation after his arrest Thursday. He remained in jail as of Sunday. Jail records don't list a bail amount or an attorney for him.

The Capital Times reports  he was arrested after residents complained of excessive drinking and drug use near Reynolds Park.

Court records show his previous name was Jeffrey Drew Wilschke, and he legally changed it to Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop in October. He was arrested in another Madison park last April after police found a loaded handgun in his backpack.

Fox Honcho: We really value Ryan Seacrest and want to keep him on 'Idol'

At the Television Critics Association winter session (which I haven’t attended in five years), Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly said he really does want to keep Ryan Seacrest as host on “Idol.” And after the disaster over at “The X Factor,” he admitted to appreciating Seacrest’s value that much more.

The Hollywood Reporter last week speculated that Seacrest has plenty of other options and Fox may be hard-pressed to pay him the $15 million they are paying him now.

“It’s really hard to imagine the show without Ryan,” Reilly told the critics today. “We certainly want to keep him. It’s a deal issue. It’s a tough negotiation and one that will come to a conclusion pretty quickly.”

The HR said today that Seacrest’s people were frustrated that Fox hadn’t even talked to him about his next deal until their story came out last Thursday.

Seacrest, it seems, would have more leverage in this situation given what else he could do and already does. But Seacrest said he wants to stick around: “I love this television show. I can’t imagine life without American Idol,” he said.

I spoke with “Idol” executive producer Nigel Lythgoe on Saturday at “So You Think You Can Dance” auditions at the Fox Theatre and he naturally hopes that Ryan stays around awhile. (Nigel himself left for two seasons before coming back season 10.)
