Whitney Houston Death: Whitney Houston died on Saturday at the age of 48. She was found unconscious in her bathtub at the Beverly Hills Hilton. Paramedics were called and performed CPR, but, Whitney was unresponsive and pronounced dead at 3:55 PM. There were no obvious signs of foul play and no obvious signs of a cause of death. Whitney's mother, Cissy Houston and her cousin, Dionne Warwick, reportedly spoke to her at around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday and had no indication anything was wrong. TMZ speculates that Whitney was taking Xanax and may have fallen asleep and drowned in her bathtub. RADAR Online claims Lorazepam, Valium and a sleeping medication were also found in Whitney's room. Doctors say Whitney should have never been given been a prescription for Xanax because she had substance abuse issues. TMZ claims water was found in Whitney's lungs.

Whitney's Daughter Breaks Down: Whitney's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was rushed to the hospital yesterday where she was treated for anxiety and stress. A source tells RADAR Online, "She tried to ease the pain of losing her mother by having a few alcoholic drinks. She was distraught, on the verge of a complete breakdown. Not knowing what to do, members of her mother's entourage tried to calm her down with a sedative. The two were an unfortunate mix and she ended up passing out." Another source tells Showbiz Spy, “Bobbi's world will be shattered. She wanted to be just like her mother. She idolized Whitney, which made always seeing her mom in disarray that much worse. Bobbi was always by her side in everything she did. She was really her mom’s caretaker and biggest cheerleader and biggest fan…I don’t know how she will be able to go on.”

The X Factor: Simon Cowell says he was considering hiring Whitney for The X Factor. "The rumors that had got back to us...and that's often what happens when people want to be on these shows, somebody tells someone to get the word out, it's normally a sign that they are interested. We were ironically going to meet on Monday and of course, one of the names we were going to be talking about in that meeting as a possible mentor on the new series of X Factor was going to be Whitney Houston. Given the choice, I would have liked to have taken her under my wing as well, because she would have been the ultimate, ultimate mentor to any contestant coming on the show."
