Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter thanked his fans yesterday for their support following the shocking death of his sister, Leslie. He blogged; "Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform."
The Carter family said previously in a statement to Access Hollywood: “Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”
Katy Perry plans to perform at the Grammys. Perry's management is negotiating with Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment to create a 3D film that will include some of her best performances
The Sun claims Rihanna has been cooking British breakfasts to get over her hangovers. A source says, "She's been cooking the full works – eggs, bacon, beans and Cumberland sausages. "The grub has been helping her and her pals get over sore heads the morning after they've been clubbing. Rihanna thinks it's the best hangover cure by far."
Maroon 5's Adam Levine says he, Blake Shelton and CeeLo Green no longer passes gas in front of Christina Aguilera on the set of The Voice. "I honestly just recently started realizing that you're surrounded by three dudes all the time, and that has to be something of a pain in the a**. We stopped farting in front of her!"

Steve Perry says Journey doesn't need to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “I think that, honestly, Journey doesn’t need to be in the Hall of Fame. With everything we accomplished … we’ve had our Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you know? It’s in the hearts of the people out there and their experiences and their memories of what we did together and how we all had the time of our lives with the music that we loved to perform and they loved to hear. I really don’t want someone to qualify it any more than that.”
Nicki Minaj's Diva Rider Demands!
Wonder what type of diet keeps keeps Nicki Minaj's petite and voluptuous frame in shape? A peak at the Grammy best new artist nominee's rider demands offers a wealth of insight.
Minaj's green room requests were listed in a Wonderland magazine cover story. In the issue out Thursday, Minaj is credited with having some very specific, diva-like needs.
Minaj's ask for 12 bottles of Martinelli's Apple Juice doesn't seem over the top. But Minaj requires that six of the bottles are room temperature and the other six are iced.
Minaj, who will be joining Madonna on stage for the halftime show at the Super Bowl Sunday, also likes dried cranberries, raw almonds, and 24 bottles of Dasani Water, 12 room temperature, 12 on ice.
She has some healthy choices on her breakfast menu -- egg whites (scrambled hard) and turkey bacon (fried hard). But she also includes white toast with grape and strawberry jelly/jam and Belgian waffles with syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, butter and strawberries.
'21 Jump Street' to premiere as SXSW centerpiece
NEW YORK (AP) — The upcoming remaking of "21 Jump Street" will premiere as the centerpiece of Austin's South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival.
The action-comedy stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in a big screen version of the 1980s Johnny Depp TV series. It will screen March 12 at SXSW, which runs March 9-17. The conference also announced its closing film will be "Big Easy Express," a documentary about a group of touring folk bands including Mumford & Sons.
SXSW earlier announced that "The Cabin in the Woods," an anticipated horror film co-written by Joss Whedon, will open the festival. On Wednesday, the festival announced its full slate of 130 features at SXSW 2012. Those were selected from a record 1,957 feature-length submissions.
Artist Star on Meeting Meryl Streep: "I Almost Cried"
Bérénice Bejo jokes that she's continually pinching herself these days with disbelief. She has good reason, because it was only few short months ago when not many people in Hollywood knew much about her—or The Artist, for that matter.
But now it's acting legends like Meryl Streep who are introducing themselves to her and giving praise—yes, Meryl Streep... "Meryl came up to me and said that she and her family watched the movie three times and that the movie will stay around forever," Bejo told me at the DGA Awards. "She said I should be very proud of it."
"I almost cried," Bejo said, even choking up a little as she told me the story. "I have to keep myself from crying now. She is so wonderful...You just want to hold her. She's so real."
Not that the average moviegoer's fandom has any less meaning. "It's unbelievable," said Bejo, who is a first-time Oscar nominee for her work in The Artist. "The response of the American audience has been so big. It's so touching."
Adam Sandler's headed for 'Candy Land'
We're sure you've been eagerly awaiting the gestating adaptation of "Candy Land," especially since the writers previously attached to the project theorized that it could be like a "'Lord of the Rings,' but set in the world of candy."
Although the movie is no longer with Universal, Adam Sandler appears to be rescuing the project. According to Deadline, Sandler is in final talks to create a live action movie based on the kids' board game through his Happy Madison production company and Sony's Columbia Pictures, and he's also attached to star.
According to the President of Columbia Pictures, Doug Belgrad, "'Candy Land' is more than just a game."
As he puts it, it's a brand "that children, parents and grandparents know and love. The world of 'Candy Land' offers an extraordinary canvas upon which to create a fantastical, live-action adventure family film with a larger than life part for Adam."
"Enchanted" director Kevin Lima is on board to helm, and Sandler is in talks to pen the script along with Robert Smigel.
