What Your Favorite Christmas Movie Says About You from yahoo.com
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
You are much more Mary-Kate than Ashley. You are a bohemian at your core and you've got an appreciation for all things that break with convention. You've also got a pretty serious silly streak and your apartment likely has many throw pillows. Deep down you believe you can heal any poor soul born with a heart two sizes too small with kindness which is fine since you're likely working in the humanities or arts and not medical science.
It's A Wonderful Life
No two ways about it--you're a softy with a tendency to dive head-first into bouts of nostalgia and gloppy sentimentalism. Only a heart-deficient tin man would be unfazed by this classic reminder to practice an attitude of gratitude.
Love Actually
You-like many of us-are susceptible to the "smarter, funnier, all-around better" spell cast by the English accent. To your ears, those who speak with British lilt are more articulate, better looking and generally more compelling and worthy of attention. By extension, a mediocre movie such as Love Actually is elevated to masterpiece status by virtue of including just about every British actor that exists.
Elf
You're a kid at heart and an idealist who believes that magic is everywhere if you know how to spot it. You also might be one of the people who mistakenly wears tights as pants, much like Buddy the elf. If so, please stop. That's not idealism that's just you forgetting to put pants on before leaving the house
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
You are tragically disaster-prone--if you haven't spilled coffee on yourself yet today or gotten toilet paper stuck to your shoe, it's by the sheer grace of god. The trials and tribulations of Clark Griswold-the well-meaning father who can't catch a break-ring true for you as does the hearty dose of familial dysfunction.
White Christmas
You're a traditionalist for whom the word "classic" still holds some meaning--you enjoy a good figgy-pudding song and a well-placed snow globe and you aspire to one day actually roast chestnuts on an open fire. Needless to say the teen years were awkward for you.
Bad Santa
Congratulations you’re the Scrooge of your friend group. Rather than putting you in the holiday spirit, the seasonal onslaught of reindeer-themed music and glossy sentimentalism triggers your gag reflex and serves as fodder for your stockpile of sarcastic remarks. However, when no one’s looking you’ve been known to indulge in a delicious peppermint mocha from Starbucks—in the pretty red cup please.
Nightmare Before Christmas
You’re cooler than everyone else. Pat yourself on the back.

Filler: Women are having Botox injected into their feet to help them cope with the pain they will endure from wearing high heels during the holiday party season. A foot-filling procedure typically costs $500 and lasts for several months. Some plastic surgeons are offering 'face and foot' specials. Fox claims many plastic surgeons are booked solid through New Year's while other doctor's offices are holding Botox parties to drum up business during the holidays.
Al Roker recently caught Matt Lauer crying. He tells the NY Post, “One day we were traveling, and I was sitting across from [Matt], and I look over and he’s looking at his laptop, and he’s crying. I’m like, ‘What the heck?’ He’s watching ‘The Notebook,’ and the tears are just flowing.”

8 Gifts Not To Give This Holiday from bankrate.com
An appliance
If the romance in your relationship has died, been buried and had the earth around the grave salted then go ahead and buy your significant other a vacuum cleaner. Otherwise, beware.
The partial gift
People have told stories of receiving half-eaten cakes, gift baskets with items clearly missing and partly used gift cards. But there's another partial gift to beware which is anything that obligates the recipient to come up with more money to use it.
A nose-hair trimmer
Men get a lot of lame gifts like ties, socks and underwear. But "lame" is so very much better than "insulting" because how else can you interpret a gadget that says, "Hey, I noticed that thatch growing out of your nostrils and it's high time you did something about it?"
The 'improving' gift
Any gift that could possibly be construed as a criticism should be struck instantly from your list.
The gift of exercise
Gym memberships, Ab Rockets and Wii Fit games can be fabulous gifts for the already fit and already toned. For everyone else, they are "improving" gifts.
A puppy
Don't give a puppy -- or a kitty or a bunny or any other adorable fuzzy creature that isn't stuffed.
The generic gift
Here's a guideline: If you could give a gift to any number of people, maybe it's not a good gift for any of them.
The misleading box
The box better match the present.
Party Time
A new survey by Battalia Winston reveals that 90% of companies are throwing a holiday party this year. That's up from 74% last year. Other findings:
- employee morale was the main reason companies cited for throwing a holiday party, followed by celebrating good business results. Ten percent said they’ll do it mainly because of tradition.
- 20% of company parties will be dry
- only 30% of companies are extending party invites to staff spouses and kids
- when asked what they want this holiday season, people overwhelmingly preferred cash bonuses, pay raises, paid time off and grocery gift cards. Just 5% of employees said they’d prefer a holiday party
Holiday Prep

- three hours and 26 minutes is spent wrapping the gifts, while writing Christmas cards takes up two hours and 31 minutes.

- two hours and 34 minutes is spent cooking the festive feast
The Best Things To Buy In December from msn.com
Buy a bike, use it later
For many of our northernmost readers, bike riding in winter is implausible but you should consider purchasing a bike this month all the same. While other months might have seen greater volume of bicycle deals, the most bargains are during the month of December. Vendors like REI, Wal-Mart, and Performance Bike had the biggest discounts.
Get good deals on toys ... by still waiting
The closer you wait til Christmas the bigger the discount for you.
Stock up on kitchen items
Even though November is the best month to buy cookware, the sales and discounts last year largely carried over into December. Even though the overall volume of deals was down slightly, December actually edged out November with the number of offers. Look for top offers from Macy's, Kohl's, Amazon, FoodSaver, Williams Sonoma, and J.C. Penney on items such as cutlery sets, bakeware and small appliances.
Tools and hardware deals for Dad
Last year, both November and December were excellent months to buy tools and hardware items, matched only by the month of July. December will deliver like it did last year with significant discounts on wrench and screwdriver sets, drills, lawn-care tools and more.
Blu-ray movies make budget-friendly gifts
November, specifically around Black Friday is a great time to get inexpensive Blu-ray disc movies but this good fortune extends into December.
Tis the Season: Londoner Sylvia Pope hangs 1,764 Christmas decorations. She says, “I pin them up. I start in September because if I go out and I see something, I buy it. I put them up until Christmas. And then I don’t take them down until March. It takes so long to put them up, so it’s quite silly only to leave them up for a day or two. I thought, ‘Oh my gosh.’ That’s what started me. From then on, I bought as many baubles as I could. I get different ones now. Not just the round baubles, all the different shapes and sizes. “Every time we go somewhere on a holiday or anything like that, I always pick up some baubles. My best holiday was New York. When I went into Macy’s, I walked in and I thought I’d gone to heaven. There was so much there I had to buy another bag in New York just to transport the baubles back home. I just do it because I enjoy it.''
Size Does Matter: The world's largest Christmas tree is on display in Rio de Janeiro. It weighs 542 tons, is 85-meters long and sits on 11 platforms. One million lights adorn the tree.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are allegedly in limbo. A source tells RADAR Online, “Rob and Kristen are at a crossroads right now as to whether he finally accepts they are back together or not. Kristen has been trying so hard to win Rob back, she’s been hanging out with his friends and she even went to London to make a good impression with Rob’s family over the Thanksgiving holiday. She knows his sisters were particularly vocal about their disapproval of Rob taking her back after the affair, so Kristin braved the storm and groveled to them. The problem is, Rob is still dithering on what to do. I think Kristen is now at the stage where she feels it is time for him to get over her affair or perhaps move on.''
Bill Murray is starring in Ghostbusters 3. Harold Ramis tells SuperOfficialNews.com, "It was kind of crazy. Just out of nowhere, I get a phone call from Bill at almost three in the morning... and he simply said, 'Yeah, Ok, I'm in!' That's Bill Murray for you. Surprising and straight to the point. Bill also said a major factor in his decision to do the movie had been all the support he received from fans."
Nick Lachey was booted from Sunday's Chargers-Bengals game. He Tweeted: "Just got kicked out of the chargers stadium and couldn't be prouder! "Go Cincy Bengals... Bengals win again. i'd talk trash to everyone in Sd, but what's the point? you already had me kicked out of the stadium and you still lost... Majority of charger fans were awesome yesterday, thanks for the hospitality! Sadly, there is always one guy that ruins it for everyone."
Nick also Tweeted: "i simply don't appreciate someone turning around and putting their finger in my face. call me crazy, but that deserved a reaction. aside from a few exceptions, i had a great time hanging with Charger fans all afternoon. honestly, some of the nicest fans around."
The Voice's Adam Levine ripped Honey Boo Boo and her family yesterday. He Tweeted: ''Seriously, Honey Boo Boo is the decay of Western civilization. Just because so many people watch the show doesn't mean it's good. So many people witness atrocities and can't take their eyes away from them, but that doesn't mean they're good. That show is literally The. Worst. Thing. That's. Ever. Happened! It's complete f***ing ignorance and the most despicable way to treat your kids. F**k those people. You can put that in the magazine: F**k those idiots. They're just the worst. Sorry, I'm so sensitive to that - like, I don't know, man, it's upsetting. Just to clarify, I said, 'F**K THOSE PEOPLE.' ''

Will.i.am enjoyed recording with Britney Spears. He tells MTV, "Britney and I, I did something on her album Femme Fatale, Big Fat Bass, and that experience was such a great experience that we decided to work again and it's been great. I would love to work with Britney again. She has great energy in the studio; she's a sweetheart, a doll of an artist and just a kind, kind person. And when she's in the studio, nothing matters but the music. So that's a great experience to have and share with somebody that loves music."
