QUIKKIES: 5 things you should NEVER say in a job interview & Labor Day Sales you need to know!

By Vikki Locke

The Republican Convention dropped 100,000 balloons and 500 pounds of confetti following Mitt Romney's speech

- Steven Seagal
owes the state of California $335,606.35 in back taxes

- Sage Stallone
died from natural causes due to a heart condition. A source tells RADAR Online, ''Here are the facts: Sage was diagnosed at age 10 with a heart murmur, he led a very sedentary lifestyle and also had an addiction to cigarettes -- he smoked up to two packs a day -- and drank a LOT of sugary soda. There was never any evidence that Sage was a drug dealer, was taking drugs or tried to kill himself.''

- Robin Williams may star in the CBS sitcom "The Crazy Ones," about an aging ad exec, who works with his daughter.

- Bill and Giuliana Rancic have named their baby boy, Edward Duke

Wafflin': Time magazine claims the government uses Waffle House restaurants to gauge damage following a natural disaster like Isaac. FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate says, "Waffle House Index gives a green light when a full menu is being served, yellow means a limited menu due to a loss of power and red means the restaurant is closed. If you get there and the Waffle House is closed? That's really bad. That's where you go to work."

Oops! The Storm Did It Again: Tropical Storm Isaac is flooding Britney Spears' hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. Rivers waters are four feet above flood level. Evacuees are stealing 'Kentwood, Louisiana - Home of Britney Spears' signs. Homes and bridges are being washed away.

Simon Says Save Them: Simon Cowell is being hailed as a hero for saving 9 people on a sinking ship. He was yachting in France when he received a distress call. A source says, "He only did what any good person would do. When the call came through no-one knew exactly how serious it was so everyone stopped what they were doing and went to help."

What A Drag: 'Tan Mom' Patricia Krentcil was tossed out of a New York drag queen show on Wednesday night. A witness says she was drunk. “She showed up for the red carpet and fell over. She then got up and tried to attack the drag queen. We asked her what she wanted to drink and she slurred, ‘I didn’t put my kid in a tanning bed!’

Ewwwwwww: Cell phones carry 10 times more bacteria than toilet seats. Charles Gerba, a microbiologist at the University of Arizona, tells NBC, "When's the last time you cleaned your cellphone? While toilets tend to get cleaned frequently, because people associate the bathroom with germs, cellphones and other commonly handled objects — like remote controls — are often left out of the cleaning routine. This is also this case with remote controls, which, are also often used by people when they're sick. Remotes are more frequently shared, too, so they're usually even worse than phones for spreading germs. Other common culprits that are hotspots of unseen disease include office phones, shopping carts and the first-floor buttons of elevators. To limit the spread of diseases from phones or other objects, try not to share them, or wipe them down with an antibacterial wipe if you do. While sprays might damage the equipment, a gentle wipe should do the trick.''

NBC is denying reports they banned Savannah Guthrie from wearing heels because she is taller than Matt Lauer. A Today Show rep says, “It’s not exactly a state secret that Savannah’s taller than her co-hosts in heels, but NBC doesn’t dictate the height of her heels or her chair. Savannah owns heels of all heights and likes to mix up her footwear, and she adjusts her seat as she sees fit.”

Never Say These 5 Things In A Job Interview from yahoo.com

1. "I just sort of... and then... and like... and uh... yeah." If you ramble, you lose. Think back to when you last met someone and asked them a simple question ("So, what did you do at Acme Corp?"), only to hear 6 minutes of irrelevant details. How did you feel? Now imagine this happening in a job interview. Interviewers aren't just evaluating your technical skills. They're using the "Airport Test," asking themselves, 'Could I see myself being stuck in an airport with this person?'

2. "Yeah, I helped out with that but it wasn't just me." Humility is a great trait, but going out of your way to be self-deprecating is an interview turn-off. You should always be candid about your role, but your interviewer doesn't care about your team dynamics or organizational chart. He wants to know what you did. He wants to know how you think. He wants to know about YOU.

3. "I left my last job because I didn't really get along with my boss." We've all had bosses from hell, but an interview is not the place to trade war stories. Take the high road: "I really enjoyed working at Acme Corp. One of the things I appreciated was being able to grow my skills in email marketing, but now I'm ready to take my skills to a bigger stage. That's why I'm excited to work with you..."

4. "I work too hard." What's your biggest weakness? Interviewers love to ask this question because it separates the top performers from the average workers. The most common -- and worst -- responses are trite: "I work too hard" or "I have trouble saying no to responsibility."

5. "I made 40K at my last job, so I'm really looking for something more like 50K. But you know...I'll be willing to take 45K too." Your interviewer will always want to know how much you made at your last job. But it's not your responsibility to tell them. In fact, you put yourself at a severe disadvantage if they know your salary. For example, if you tell them you make $50,000, and the hiring manager was prepared to offer you $60,000, you've just lost thousands of dollars from one sentence.

- most all-American foods: Apple pie (28%), hamburgers (25%), hot dogs (20%) and barbecue (17%)

Worst Back-To-School Drinks from foxnews.com

Here is a list of some of the worst culprits:

Minute Maid Apple Juice vs. Dunkin Donuts:
One 15.2 fl oz bottle of Minute Maid Apple Juice has 52 grams of sugar, the same amount of sugar in about 25 Dunkin Donut sugared munchkins.

Hi-C Poppin’ Lemonade vs. Krispy Kreme:
One 6.75 fl oz juice box of Hi-C Poppin’ Lemonade has 26 grams of sugar. In such a tiny kid-sized box it has 7 grams more sugar than a Krispy Kreme chocolate iced custard filled donut.

Minute Maid Orange Juice vs. Fruit Loops:
The sugar in one 15.2 fl oz bottle of Minute Maid Orange juice is equivalent to 4 cups of Kellogg’s Fruit Loops (48g).

Sobe Citrus Energy vs. Pixy Stixs:
You could eat about 29 sugar-filled straws of Pixy Stixs for the same amount of sugar in one 20 fl oz Sobe Citrus Energy drink (63g- about 12 ½ teaspoons).

Tropicana Twister Orange Strawberry Banana Burst vs. Tootsie Rolls:
One 20 fl oz bottle of Tropicana Twister has 64 grams of sugar, just about as much sugar as 21 Tootsie Roll candies.

Here is a list of some healthier, and still good-tasting back-to-school beverages:

Zevia Mountain Zevia, the “All Natural Soda”
If your kids just can’t live without a daily dose of soda try handing them this carbonated alternative. With zero grams of sugar it blows out regular soda drinks like Mountain Dew that contains 46 grams of sugar in a single 12 fl oz can.

Lakewood Organic Cranberry Blend:
A mix of organic cranberries, apples and grapes, this natural and 100 percent fresh pressed juice has 20 grams of sugar in an 8oz serving. Compared to other cranberry blends like Minute Maid’s Cran-Grape that holds a hefty 38 grams of sugar it’s a delicious and healthier way to go. Your kids will also get two full servings of fruit for the day without even knowing it!

Stevita’s Fruit Flavored Powdered Drink Mixes:
Available in fun flavors like lime, cherry, grape, orange and strawberry, this tasty substitute has zero grams of sugar and is a perfect option for kids who love sweet summer-time drinks. So ditch the fat smiling Kool-Aid man and save your kids16 grams of sugar that his 19 oz cherry mix comes with.

Hint Fizz:
A natural, calorie & sugar free unsweetened sparkling water refreshment that doesn’t skimp on flavor. With a wide variety of flavors like blackberry, watermelon, strawberry-kiwi and peach it’s no wonder this drink won this year’s Better Homes and Gardens Best New Product Award. While water may always seem like the winning choice, some other “water” products like Vitamin Water Focus in kiwi-strawberry packs in 33 grams of sugar in just one 20 fl oz bottle.

Zico Pomberry Coconut Water:
Seen as a healthier alternative to a sports drink this berry and pomegranate mix has 12 grams of sugar in one 14 fl oz bottle. Unlike popular sports drinks like Gatorade’s G Series Recover that also holds 40 grams of sugar in one 16.9 fl oz bottle, Zico coconut water naturally contains electrolytes that are lost during a good sweat session. The natural coconut blend also contains almost 15 times more potassium than the Gatorade G series beverage

Slippery When Wet: A truck, carrying 40,000 pounds of bacon, recently overturned on Interstate 74 near Deer Creek, Illinois. The trailer broke open as the bacon spilled onto a grassy median. The driver, Rodney Kalman, was charged with improper lane usage.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart plan to meet at Reese Witherspoon’s ranch. A source tells Look magazine, “Kristen was getting through to Rob, when she begged him to meet her face to face so they could talk and he has agreed to see her. The friend said that Rob understands that it must be worse for her because she’s not just dealing with heartbreak, but being portrayed as a villain, while he gets all the sympathy.”

Robert Pattinson may relocate. A source tells RADAR Online, “Robert is thinking long and hard about returning to London. He’s selling his home in Los Angeles, not only because it holds bad memories, but because he wants a fresh start. He never fell in love with Los Angeles and has always longed for home. When Kristen was shooting Snow White and the Huntsman in London, he made his excuses to visit her as much as he could - he missed it so much. Despite making friends in America, Robert longs just to have a pint with the mates he grew up with in a local west London pub. He’s just a regular guy.''

Katie Holmes' new apartment allegedly features a room for Suri's imaginary friends. A source tells Jezebel, “Katie spent money on high-end furniture and had a designer decorate a room just for Suri’s imaginary friends.”

Adele did not get secretly married.

LeAnn Rimes is in rehab for stress and anxiety. She says, ''This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be. All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I'm hoping they're not going to affect me as much. I'll have the tools to know how to deal with them.''

Rimes is also suing Kimberly Smiley and her daughter Lexi, for illegally taping her phone calls and posting snippets online. The Smileys are friends with Brandi Glanville. Glanville Tweeted: “I’m glad she is finally getting help”

LeAnn Rimes thinks Eddie Cibrian may be cheating. A source tells RADAR Online, “LeAnn called a friend of hers a few weeks ago sobbing hysterically about Eddie going out. She was home for the weekend and he didn’t stay in with her and she was crying saying that she was so worried about what he was doing when he wasn’t with her. LeAnn is beyond stressed about the cracks in her relationship with Eddie and she has been really scared that he is cheating on her.

LeANN SUES TWO WOMEN FOR INVASION OF PRIVACY!

On Thursday, Kimberly contacted Radaronline, claiming LeAnn called her and cursed her out because she stopped following LeAnn on Twitter.  Kimberly told site that LeAnn called her and said, “Hey b**ch this is LeAnn you have 5 minutes to say whatever you want to me!" Smiley said the call was filled with expletives, adding she has “never heard a person curse so much.”    Kimberly, who admits to supporting Glanville,  added,  “LeAnn called me because she believed that telling me her side, would change my mind." Oddly, Smiley claims LeAnn is obsessively concerned about how the public perceives her. "She really wants us to like her and see that she's not as bad as we think. It's very strange, if you ask me," Kimberly said. "I mean I'm just a mom, wife, and  teacher from a rural town in Northern California. Why would she care?"
