DIDDY WANTED FOR IDOL?

Add another big name into the mix as a possible Steven Tyler replacement on American Idol. According to the New York Post, producers of the Fox show are courting Bad Boy Records founder Sean “Diddy” Combs for the job.  Neither Fox nor Combs’ rep would comment on the story. Of course, Diddy isn’t the only one in the running. Earlier this month Joe Jonas tweeted that he was up for the job.

STEWART SAYS SHE CAN’T BE FAKE/DROPS OUT OF NEXT PROJECT!

Kristen Stewart doesn’t think she’s a fake person.  In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, given just days before news of her fling with director Rupert Sanders hit, Stewart admits she’s not the best at doing press for her films. "I've never been able to fully form this thing, this persona, that some people are so f---ing good at," she said. "That's an art, I know a lot of actors [who can do that]." She then continued, “I don’t want anyone leaving and saying, ‘God, that girl is so fake.’…I’d just rather be me.” (Which is apparently a cheat.) Meanwhile, Stewart has dropped out of her next project, the film Cali.  No reason for her departure was given, but Gossip Cop reports The Rum Diary’sAmber Heard is expected to replace her.

In related news...Rupert Sanders’ wife Liberty Ross isn’t ready to give up on her marriage. TMZ reports that while Liberty has hired a divorce lawyer, she’s still holding out hope the marriage can be saved. The site claims the pair has already been to a marriage and family therapist. Liberty reportedly wants to uncover why exactly Rupert cheated and to gain some sort of assurance it will never happen again. Good luck with that.

KATHIE LEE CRITICIZED FOR PARENTING COMMENTS!

Kathie Lee Gifford is in a bit of hot water for suggesting bad parents are what causes kids to become drug addicts. In an interview with Family Circle, the Today show host said, “I’m not a perfect mom, but my kids haven’t been arrested, in rehab or kicked out of school. So I must be doing something right.” Well,  the flippant comment infuriated people who’ve dealt with addiction in their family, with many flocking to Kathie Lee’s Facebook page to voice their disgust.  “Parents are not always to blame for their children’s successes or failures,” wrote one mom. “Until you’ve walked in the shoes of parents of addicts, you need to keep your opinions to yourself or learn a little bit about the disease.”  Another called her a “thoughtless human being.”

Is Joe Giudice cheating on his wife Teresa? In an upcoming episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Joe is seen excusing himself from the table to take a “work” call, which turns out to be from a woman.  “Joe disappears away from the cameras but doesn’t realize that he still has a microphone on when a lady, not his wife, is heard saying ‘Hi baby,’” a source tells The Huffington Post.   Teresa starts fuming when he’s been gone too long and goes after  him, at which point, the insider claims, “Joe can be clearly heard saying 'Here comes my b**** wife. She’s such a c***,’” adding, “I’m gonna hang up … I’ll talk to you, like, whenever.” When confronted about the call, Joe tells Teresa he was simply talking to a “worker” who couldn’t speak English. The episode is due to air Sunday, August 19^th.

USC DENIES KARDASHIAN LAW SCHOOL PLANS!

So much for Rob Kardashian’s law school future...Earlier this week, the reality show star tweeted that he was going to law school, with reports claiming he was headed to the University of Southern California. Well, if that’s really the case, USC knows nothing about it. On Wednesday, they wrote on their official page, “Rob Kardashian is not coming here, but we wish him luck at law school.”  So far there’s been no clarification on which school Rob is indeed attending.

AMY WINEHOUSE’S EX ON LIFE SUPPORT!

Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil is in a fight for his life. The 30-year-old is in a medically induced coma after suffering an overdose last Friday. Blake was found choking in his bed by his partner Sarah Aspin and was rushed to a hospital in West Yorkshire, England.  He has reportedly suffered multiple organ failure and is on life support.  Blake and Amy were married for two years. Her father Mitch yesterday took to Twitter, writing, “Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let's pray for his recovery."   Amy died from alcohol intoxication July 23, 2011.

LAWSUIT CLAIMS COUPLE’S RETREAT RUINED HONEYMOON!

Vince Vaughn’s film Couple’s Retreat is being blamed for ruining a pair’s dream honeymoon. Wealthy corporate executive Nicholas Malcomson filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court earlier this week claiming that in 2008, Starwood Hotels abruptly cancelled his plans for a luxurious stay at the St. Regis Bora Bora in order to accommodate the 2009 comedy.  Malcomson says he had booked the hotel’s $3,360-per-night “royal” villa with a private pool, and gave the hotel a two-night deposit, only to have the hotel cancel the reservation less than six weeks before the trip.  Malcomson says Starwood still hasn’t returned his deposit, and he wound up paying $42,000 to a travel company in order to make “alternative arrangements.” He has also named NBC Universal, the parent company of Universal Pictures, in the suit for “aiding and abetting the commission of a fraud.” He is seeking unspecified damages for breach of contract, unjust enrichment and fraud.

RICK SPRINGFIELD AGREES TO PLEA DEAL IN DUI CASE!

Rick Springfield has agreed to a plea deal in connection with his drunk driving arrest. Springfield was busted for DUI in Malibu back in May, 2011 and allegedly threatened to kill his arresting officer if he had Springfield’s 1963 Corvette Stingray towed. According to TMZ, prosecutors agreed to drop the DUI charge in exchange for a no contest plea to reckless driving. Springfield received three years probation and must attend a two month traffic program.

● Comic book geeks were up in arms over reports Ben Affleck had been offered the chance to direct Warner Bros. upcoming Justice League film.  Similar to Marvel’s The Avengers, Justice League would bring together the most famous superheroes of the DC comic universe, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash. Fans who are still reeling over Affleck’s horrible comic movie Daredevil weren’t too pleased by the news. But lucky for them, Deadline.com reports that Affleck’s reps have said he is not going to do the project.

 ● Shia LaBeouf is in talks to star in Danish director Lars von Trier’s next project, the drama Nymphomaniac.  The film follows the erotic adventures of a young woman, played by Charlotte Gainsbourg, from her youth to age 50, as told by her husband, played by Stellan Skarsgard. There’s no word on what character Shia will play.

● Tim Robbins is headed behind the camera. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Robbins has signed on to direct City of Lies, about two spies who fall in love while participating in separate missions in Prague.
