Prom King and Queen: Alex Chichkov recently paid $600 for a plane to fly over his girlfriend's fundraiser with a banner that read: “Come to prom with me, Kayla?” The 17 year-old senior, from King High School in Tampa, says, “I’ve seen it for weddings and I wanted to do something huge or unique. I didn’t want to do anything generic. In the history of the school, no one has done anything that big. It’s going to be my only prom, first time ever, last time ever, with someone who’s been my girlfriend for two and a half years, so it deserves to be that big. Everyone was cheering and she had the biggest smile on her face."
No Smoking: New Zealand, in an effort to get people to quit smoking by 2025, is considering passing a law that would raise the price of cigarettes to $100 a pack. Politicians say $60 a pack is a more reasonable goal. Prime Minister John Key is concerned that higher prices may encourage a black market.
Boy Shoots Father For Not Buying Him A Playstation: A four-year-old Saudi boy shot and killed his father on Sunday for refusing to buy him a Sony PlayStation. Sinead O'Connor has canceled her world tour. She blogged: "With enormous regret I must announce that I have to cancel all touring for the year as am very unwell due to bi polar disorder. As you all know I had a very serious breakdown between December and March and I had been advised by my doctor not to go on tour but didn't want to 'fail' or let anyone down as the tour was already booked to coincide with album release. So very stupidly I ignored his advice to my great detriment, attempting to be stronger than I actually am. I apologize sincerely for any difficulties this may cause."

Gotye recently slammed Glee's rendition of "Somebody That I Used to Know". He said, "They did such a faithful arrangement of the instruments but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box ... It made it sound dinky and wrong."
