Mel Gibson is teaming up with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas to produce a movie about Judah Maccabee, the Jewish warrior who defeated the Greek-Syrian armies in the second century B.C. Nierob says Gibson has been working on the Maccabee project for a decade, but now it's about to become real.

Ricki Lake has officially registered the first "Dancing With The Stars" injury. Thursday the former talk show host hobbled out of the studio with a huge bruise on her shin.   Lake says she's fine and the injury came from hitting her heel into her shin.  "I'm fine!" she says.

ABC has signed Bachelor/Bachelorette/Bachelor Pad host Chris Harrison to emcee a new game show called "You Deserve It", in which players compete to win up to $500,000 for someone else who is in need. No premiere date has been set yet for the show, which will begin taping six episodes in October.

CMT has announced that Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been hired to host the new show, "Angels Among Us," which premieres on Thursday, September 15th. According to the channel, the four-episode series features everyday men and women who believe they were delivered from tragedy through angelic encounters.

The cast of Jersey Shore has teamed up with Cheaterville.com to promote the newest social networking site designed to help people become aware of their cheating significant others. The site's creator, James McGibney, says, that if the site can get the cast members of Jersey Shore to realize that cheating is wrong and voice their opinions against it, the world would be a better place...

Comedy Central's Roast of Charlie Sheen has completed it's guest list of roasters. Roast Master Seth MacFarlane will be joined on the dais by William Shatner, Private Practice's Kate Walsh, Jon Lovitz and comedians Patrice O'Neal and Amy Schumer. Slash will also be making a special appearance roast. The new list of names will join previously announced insult-throwers Jeffrey Ross, Steve-O, Anthony Jeselnik and Mike Tyson. The show will be recorded this Saturday in L.A. and will air on Monday, September 19th.

By the time the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks has passed, American television networks will have presented more than 75 hours of new
programming documentaries, memorials, dramas, and live broadcasts dedicated to the event. On Sunday ABC, CBS, PBS and several cable channels are devoting some or all of their prime-time schedules to shows related to the attacks.  The only exceptions will be FOX and NBC who will be broadcasting football and HBO with the season finales of its hits "True Blood" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and after 8 seasons, the final episode"Entourage."

Ashton Kutcher appeared nude on The Ellen Show on Thursday.  In a segment taped for the September 12th season premiere of the talk show, Kutcher talked about the ad that shows him, Jon Cryer and Angus Jones all naked behind a sign that says "All will be revealed."  In a special edition billboard, a nude Ellen appeared nude with the cast.  Kutcher, initially appearing in a robe said the ad campaign is getting a lot of attention so he figures he'll be doing everything nude from now on....and then dropped his robe.  Thank goodness for pixilation...?   

Former Biggest Loser contestant, Sam Poueu, is in critical condition in a San Francisco hospital after falling several stories from a building on Saturday.
The reality star is conscious and is being treated for a pelvic injury, torn ligaments, a punctured lung and a broken leg. It is unknown what caused his fall.

Holly Durst and Blake Julian who flirted all season on Bachelor Pad are engaged to be married!  Fans were able to see the romance begin between the two, which was complicated because Holly's ex-fiancee, Michael Stagliano, was also competing on the show and trying to win back Holly's heart. The season 2 finale of Bachelor Pad airs Monday on ABC.

Screening for jurors officially began yesterday in the manslaughter case against Dr. Conrad Murray. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael E. Pastor introduced the jurors to Murray and asked whether they could serve on a trial lasting 25 court days ending around Oct. 28. Opening statements are anticipated later this month. Murray, 58, is accused of over-sedating superstar, Michael Jackson with the powerful anesthetic propofol and failing to notice that Jackson had stopped breathing for crucial minutes before finally calling 911. Defense attorneys say Jackson drank propofol like milk, and suggest that someone other than Murray, perhaps Jackson himself, administered the fatal dose of the drug when Murray's back was turned.  The doctor could get up to four years in prison if convicted of the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Neil Diamond has asked Katie McNeil, the woman who produced a 2009 documentary about him, to be his wife. He tweeted the good news in a rhyme... "Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you're the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well." This will be the third marriage for the singer. He was previously married to Jayne Posner, with whom he has two daughters, and Marcia Murphey, with whom he has two sons.
