Actress Susan Sarandon, in an interview on Saturday with Bob Balaban, were talking about her movie, "Dead Man Walking".  Newsday reports that Sarandon mentioned she's sent a copy of the book to the pope. "The last one...not this Nazi one we have now," she said. As a child in Germany, the then 14-year old Joseph Ratzinger was forced to be a member of the Hitler youth, a legal requirement at the time.  He deserted the Hitler Youth which is why Jews regard him as a friend, not an enemy. The largest Catholic civil rights organization in the United States lashed out calling her comments "positively obscene."

Actor, Mitchel Musso, who played Oliver Oken on "Hannah Montana" was arrested for drunk driving in Burbank, California. The 20-year-old was pulled over at 3:43am Sunday after he was pulled over by officers after he failed to slow while they were directing traffic for an accident. Reportedly officers came to his 2007 black Mercedes and detected a "strong odor of alcohol" after which he was given a field sobriety test.  He then was given a breathalyzer test and blew well above the California legal limit...which is one thing, but Musso isn't even of legal drinking age yet. Musso was booked on suspicion of DUI and taken to a nearby station. Bail was set at $5,000. He was released from custody on his own recognizance a few hours later.

Giuliana Rancic announced she is battling breast cancer on Monday morning.  "The Fashion Police" cohost said that she learned of her diagnosis while going through the preparation for IVF treatment, which she has been chronicled on her Style network reality series, Giuliana & Bill. The news came just days before she and husband Bill Rancic headed to a Colorado fertility center. "I think a lot of us think we're invincible. But we have to start putting ourselves on the to-do list. I just want women out there to know if you can just find it early, you'll be OK. I found it early." Giuliana will be undergoing surgery sometime this week, and will follow that up with six weeks of radiation. After that, she says that she and Bill will resume their attempt at getting pregnant.

Selena Gomez has received a death threat that is so serious that the LAPD's Threat Management Unit is on the case. 46-year-old Thomas Brodnicki, a man with a criminal history of stalking, allegedly told a therapist during a mental evaluation, that he was going to kill Selena. Brodnicki has traveled from Chicago to L.A. to meet her, visited her workplace at least 3 times and has told people he had conversations with God about killing her.  Selena and her lawyer claim Brodnicki was picked up for mental evaluation last month after he allegedly threatened to "scratch people's eyes out on the street." LAPD detectives are taking the threats "extremely seriously" because of Brodnicki's history of mental illness and making criminal threats.
