ESPN decided Thursday to completely part ways with Hank Williams Jr, who for 23 years has opened Monday Night Football with his theme song, "All My Rowdy Friends". Within moments of the announcement, Williams, in turn, resigned.  While it's being said that ESPN officials were kicking around the idea of moving away from Williams, it became the perfect time to make the change when the country singer appeared on "Fox and Friends" and suggested the oddness of Obama and Bohener playing golf was like Hitler and Netanyahoo playing golf together.   "We have decided to part ways with Hank Williams Jr.,'' said ESPN in an
unattributed statement. ''We appreciate his contributions over the past years.

The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games and that will continue.''   Williams responded "After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision,'' he said in a statement. ''By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It's been a great run."

After just four episodes, NBC has canceled their new comedy, "Free Agents"
starring Hank Azaria, Kathryn Hahn and Anthony Head...

President Obama announced Wednesday that pop star Shakira has been named to the
Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, citing her work
helping children in Latin America. Shakira founded the Barefoot Foundation, a
US-based non-profit whose mission is to make education universally available to
every child.

Denzel Washington has donated over $2 million dollars to his alma mater, Fordham
University.  The money will be used to create a new scholarship for
undergraduate theater majors and a new Chair in Theatre position, which will be
filled by actress Phylicia Rashad. (Claire Huxtable on "The Cosby Show") The
Tony-winning actress has already started teaching the Creating a Character class
at Fordham. The donation by Washington will not only provide the money for the
Chair of Theatre salary, but will also establish the Denzel Washington Endowed
Scholarship, which will support minority undergrads studying theater. Denzel
graduated from Fordham in 1977.

In an effort to keep the show on the air, several top-level producers of "The
Simpsons" have agreed to take pay cuts. The cast, however, have yet to agree to
terms with the studio. As Variety reported, Simpsons studio 20th Century Fox TV
has demanded a 45 percent pay cut and the voice actors countered with a 30
percent reduction, plus a piece of the back end. The studio rejected that
proposal. Fox has previously declared the iconic hit is no longer sustainable
under its current deal and is demanding salary reductions in order for the
series to continue.

"American Idol" alum Lee DeWyze has been dumped by his record label.  DeWyze won
the contest just a year and a half ago. He had been signed to RCA Records whose
roster includes former Idol stars Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Jordin
Sparks. Lee is reportedly working on "several exciting projects".

Amanda Knox has already gotten her first big offer to cash in on her experience
of being jailed in Italy.  While the offer is from porn company, Vivid, the deal
offers cash without having to remove a single piece of clothing. They want her
to represent the studio at trade and retail events.

Charles Napier who played Tucker McElroy in "The Blues Brothers" movie, died
Wednesday, just one day after he collapsed at his home in California. While you
may not know his name, you'll know his face because it was seen in a great
number of Hollywood classics, including "Rambo: First Blood II" and
"Philadelphia". It's unclear what caused Napier to collapse -- but he was
reportedly hospitalized for blood clots just last year. He was 75.

After a five year absence, singer Faith Hill will perform at "The 45th Annual
CMA Awards" on November 9th. Hill will debut the new single from her forthcoming
new album due out early next year.  Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host
the event that airs live from Nashville. Previously announced performers include
Jason Aldean , The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert , Blake Shelton,
Taylor Swift , and Keith Urban.

"So You Think You Can Dance" has been picked up for a 9th season. The show was
created by "American Idol" executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Simon Fuller.
According to the release, audition information will be coming soon.

The CW has cancelled their new show "H8R" after just four episodes because the
ratings were so dismal. It was the least-watched show of the new season among
any of the five broadcast networks. Encores of new drama "Ringer" will take over
the 8pm Wednesday timeslot beginning October 12th.
