DR. CONRAD MURRY SENTENCED
Man, oh, man. Judge Michael Pastor really threw the book at Dr. Conrad Murray Tuesday when he sentenced the doc to four years in prison.  It seemed like the judge would have sent him away for longer than that if he could have.  Because of prison overcrowding, Murray will serve his time in L.A. County Jail and that means that at most Murray will only serve half the sentence.

The judge was angry, talking repeatedly about Dr. Murray's documentary in which he laid the blame at Michael Jackson's doorstep.  The documentary clearly weighed in the judge's decision to give Murray the max.  Later in the day, Murray's lawyer, J. Michael Flanagan said in hind sight, making the documentary wasn't such a good idea.

As for restitution, Judge Pastor ordered Dr. Murray to pay"appropriate restitution" to the Estate and to MJ's kids at a later date.  The prosecution wanted $100 million, but the judge noted that Murray would never be able to pay a fine like that. Murray must pay an $800 fine, a $30 court security fee, and a $40 criminal conviction assessment.

Dr. Conrad Murray's baby mama Nicole Alvarez is furious over the sentence and called the decision "ridiculous."  She insists that Murray has beaten himself up non-stop since Michael's death.  The Judge said in a statement before handing down the sentence that Murray showed no remorse for his crime and considered him dangerous to the community.

Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine wants Murray to rot behind bars and told anyone who would listen that four years just isn't enough but admits that the judge was extremely fair.

Before sentencing...

Conrad Murray's defense attorney J. Michael Flanagan stormed away from a news conference after he was ambushed by hecklers. Flanagan was making a statement saying that Dr. Conrad Murray "led 56 years of exemplary life" -- at which point he was interrupted by someone in the crowd yelling... "And then he killed Michael Jackson."  Flanagan asked for the hecklers to be removed but when nothing was done, he stormed away from the podium.

Nick Lachey, former 98 Degrees member and most recently host of "The Sing-Off" is in the studio recording a new CD.  The work is called, "The Soundtrack of My Life" and the songs all come from movies that he grew up with...songs that mean something to him. He hopes the album will be out early next summer.

Ricky Martin has signed on to guest star on "Glee" as a sexy Spanish teacher for one episode. Martin will also sing two numbers in the January episode. One troubling thing to remember: While Mr. Schue works closely with glee club, he's supposed to be the McKinley High Spanish teacher.  Will Martin be a substitute?A student teacher?  What happens to Mr. Shue?

In other "Glee" news, get ready for the return of Chord Overstreet as Sam Evans. The storyline has Sam joining the synchronized swim team in his quest to win back Mercedes. He'll enter the scene again in January, when we'll also meet the swim coach, Roz Washington and three new team members.

"The Big Bang Theory" star, Jim Parsons, who plays the socially devoid Sheldon Cooper will be heading to Broadway after the first of the year.  He will be starring in a revival production of "Harvey," which will play at Studio 54.  The show will run June 14th thru August 5th. In case you don't know the story of "Harvey", it's about a man who imagines he has a tall rabbit friend, much to the concern of his family and friends.  The show will be working around Parson's "Big Bang" shooting schedule.

Comedian Patrice O'Neal died Tuesday morning as a result of a stroke he suffered October 19th.  O'Neal performed at the "Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen" back in September. He also appeared on several TV shows such as "Chappelle Show," "The Office," and "Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn." Comedy Central will be airing his stand-up special tonight, entitled, "Elephant in the Room".He was 41.

"Survivor" producer Mark Burnett is teaming up with one of the most popular pastors in the world., Joel Osteen for a primetime network show in 2012.  The show will follow people who go on a mission with Osteen somewhere in the United States in order to start "fixing things". Burnett tells TMZ, the premise of the show is that ordinary people will give up several days or longer to go on a mission with Joel Osteen.  So far, no network has signed the program, but with Burnett at the helm, that shouldn't be a problem.

Kris Humphries is not at all happy with the way he was portrayed in the season premiere Sunday of "Kim and Kourtney Take New York."  The negative light he was shown in is apparently grating on him and his family. AND he doubts that it will get any better in any future episodes as Kim tries to rehabilitate her image with her fans who unexpectedly (to her) turned on her for seeking a divorce after only 72 days of marriage.  Fans felt they had been duped into believing that she was in love with the big lug and when Kim filed for divorce, many felt the wedding was just a publicity stunt and a business transaction.

Charlie Sheen is in Colombia scouting locations for a new movie he's developing. The actor has been traveling around the country with a camera crew.  Reportedly the movie is a classic remake from the 70's and set in South America.  While he won't say what the movie is about, he has approached Nicolas Cage to see if he'd be interested in getting involved. Sheen says the project is in its very early
stages.
