Scarlett Johansson says that Matt Damon, cried on the set of their movie, "We Bought A Zoo" when he was forced to work with a number of snakes in the movie. "He was definitely sweating a bit, and maybe the sweat formed in the corner of his eye, she said. Damon laughingly says he got bullied by Johansson and the kids playing his children in the movie into doing the scene and admits he's scared to death of the reptiles.
Katie Couric has called it quits with her boy toy of five years, Brooks Perlin. Word is that Couric was the one who initiated the breakup because "they wanted
different things"... Couric, 54, and Perlin, 37, met in 2006 at a cancer research fundraiser. Couric's first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer
in 1998. Couric's sister, Virginia state senator Emily Couric, died of pancreatic cancer in 2001.
Donald Trump has bowed out of the GOP debate he was going to moderate after only two of the seven candidates agreed to appear. In a video titled "Why I cancelled the 'great debate,'" Trump said he believed more candidates didn't want to show up was because they thought that Trump himself was going to be running for political office. Trump says that if the Republican party picks who he thinks is the wrong candidate for the job of President, he will run as an independent candidate. Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum were the only candidates who had accepted Trump's invitation to appear.
Steve Carell has signed up to guest voice on an upcoming episode of "The Simpsons." He will take on the role of Dan Gillick, a high-strung accountant who works for mobster Fat Tony. Gillick gets nervous when he may have to run the mob while Fat Tony is on jury duty...especially when there's people to be killed. Gillick runs into Homer at the bowling alley and asks for his advice.
Just saw a funny teaser for the new season of "The Bachelor" Cheryl, a 60- something with crutches because of a broken foot, is one of the bachelorettes that gets out of the limo...with help...to meet the new Bachelor. She tells him that she watched him all last season and fell in love with him...My guess is that she's there to introduce her granddaughter or something....otherwise it's just damn sick.
Disney TV Animation is launching a new animated movie and series called, "Sofia the First." The series expected to air on the Disney channel in 2013 features
the voices of Ariel Winter ("Modern Family"), Sara Ramirez ("Grey's Anatomy"), Wayne Brady and Tim Gunn ("Project Runway"). The story centers around a little-girl princess and is aimed at preschool children. The girl experiences the same social issues as the young viewers do... learning how to fit in, making new friends, conquering new skills and building sibling relationships with the overall premise that being a princess is what's inside, not outside.
Comedian and actor David Spade has put up his Malibu beach home for sale for $13.5 million. His listing joins more than three dozen other houses for sale in
the trendy coastal city priced at $10 million and up. Spade's two story home features four bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a spiral staircase, four fireplaces and
beach-facing balconies and decks. The 3,700 square foot home sits on a quarter-acre lot with a pool. Public records show Spade bought the Malibu
property in 2005 for $9.3 million
Actor Ryan Phillippe is selling the house he bought in 2008 after his 8 year marriage to Reese Witherspoon was over. The five bedroom, 7 bath home is
located in the Sunset Strip area and sports a list price of $7.45 million. Among its features are a gym, a media room and separate guest or office space. The
house sets on a little over half an acre which includes a swimming pool, spa, sauna and an outdoor kitchen. Public records show he bought the property for
$7.175 million in 2008
The Federal Communications Commission has passed a new law which should be welcome to anyone who watches TV. Responding to years of complaints that the volume on commercials is louder than that of regular programming, the FCC on Tuesday passed the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act CALM). The act requires commercials and entertainment and news programming to be kept at the same volume. Don't relax your remote volume button quite yet, however, the rule doesn't go into effect until next December.
Brooke Mueller has checked herself in to an undisclosed full-time rehab center in order to maintain her sobriety say her reps. Brooke was arrested recently in
Aspen, Colorado for assault and cocaine possesion. Her children, fathered by Charlie Sheen, will remain in their home and be cared for by their longtime
nanny.
The engagement ring Roman Polanski gave to Sharon Tate before she was murdered by the Manson family in 1969 has been sold at auction for $21,000. The ring hit the block at the GottaHaveRockandRoll.com auction and was thought to be able to bring in $10,000...
Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris, will be making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneris Show on Thursday. Paris will talk about using her father's memory as inspiration to follow her dreams. She says she's wanted to act since she was a little girl. She says that she and her dad would do improv together. She also talks about having to wear a mask as a child whenever the family left the house. Paris says she realized as she got older that her father had her behind a veil
to protect them...but he explained that all to her. And as far as the most memorable thing Jackson has said to Paris... "He said, 'If I die tomorrow,
always remember what I told you.' I took his advice and I remembered everything he told me."
Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy Smurf were honored Tuesday with a Handprint Ceremony at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. The Smurfs join Hollywood's legends after celebrating more than 50 years of entertaining fans of the series. The Smurfs were first introduced in 1958 as comic book characters called "The Schtroumpfs," created by Belgian artist Pierre "Peyo" Culliford. Over the next fifty years, they came to life in comics, books, television series, films, videogames, live shows, and figurines (more than 300 million sold). The Smurf movie, released in July and out on DVD two weeks ago, stars Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother"), Jayma Mays "Glee"), Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family"), and Hank Azaria ( "The Simpsons") as Gargamel. Katie Perry stars as Smurfette, George Lopez as Grouchy and Jonathan Winters as the original Papa Smurf.
Basketball star, Scottie Pippen claims he's been unfairly portrayed in the media as a walking financial disaster -- and now he's suing every media outlet that
reported he went bankrupt ... claiming he hasn't been worth LESS than $40,000,000 in the last 10 years. Pippen has filed a lawsuit against CBSsports.com, CNBC.com, Arizona State University and more, claiming they all falsely reported the former Chicago Bulls star had gone belly up. Pippen claims
each media outlet that besmirched his good name should fork over at least $1 million in damages.
