NBC has confirmed the rumor that Madonna will perform as the halftime act for
Super Bowl XLVI. The network announced the news during halftime of the "Sunday
Night Football" broadcast. Super Bowl XLVI will take place on February 5th, 2012
in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
GPA Entertainment is releasing an exclusive documentary featuring the 84-year
old father of Michael Jackson, Joe Jackson. Joe is the self-proclaimed
architect of the Jackson family musical empire. The film, "Confessions of a
Father" is compiled from hours of interviews conducted over a two-year period
and will offer a fascinating yet chilling look at one of the most controversial
fathers in show business history. The film will cover the Jackson family story
up until the trial and sentencing of Dr. Conrad Murray in the death of the
family's financial provider, Michael Jackson. The documentary will have a
theatrical release in 2012 before a nationwide home entertainment blu-ray and
DVD release.
In other Jackson news, the family is on the hunt for a piece of concrete
containing Michael's hand and footprints. MJ left the impressions back in 1984
for a Vegas hotel which had commissioned the piece for a "Walk of Fame" style
exhibit in front of the property. The exhibit never materialized, and the
concrete slab was sold at auction to a guy named Andy Wilson. The family wants
to reclaim the slab, calling it rightful property of the Jackson estate. They
have reportedly offered Wilson $25,000 plus a cut of merchandising, but Wilson
says they can do better, and he's not in any hurry.
Tiger Woods actually won a golf event Sunday. He birdied the last two holes to
win the Chevron World Challenge by one stroke. It's his first win in two
years...
Could it be that Stevie Wonder, the great Stevie Wonder may try his hand at
"Dancing With The Stars?" The 61-year-old "Superstition" singer appeared on The
Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday and she tried to get him to answer the rumors. "I'm
losing weight," he replied. "When I get to where I feel like I'm going to look
good enough for what I want to do, I'll do that." After DeGeneres pointed out
that the singer would lose weight while on the show, Wonder replied, "I'll look
good in the beginning and I'll look even better in the end." Though Dancing with
the Stars has never featured a blind celebrity, hearing impaired Oscar-winner
Marlee Matlin competed and came in 7th place during Season 6.
Loud mouth comedian Alan Sues, who rose to fame on "Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In,"
in the late 60's died on Thursday at his home in Los Angeles from a heart
attack. He was 85. On "Laugh-In," Sues was part of an ensemble cast in the
highly rated, politically incorrect show that helped jumpstart the careers of
stars like Goldie Hawn, Lily Tomlin and Flip Wilson. Sues played Uncle Al the
Kiddies’ Pal, a consistently hung-over children’s entertainer; Big Al, an
effeminate sportscaster more obsessed with ringing a bell than announcing the
day’s action; and a drag imitation of cast member Jo Anne Worley.
Charlie Sheen's ex, Brooke Mueller, has been busted again for suspicion of
felony cocaine possession. According to the Aspen Police Department, officers
found her inside a nightclub called "Escobar" after she allegedly assaulted some
woman at a nearby drinking establishment. In addition to cocaine possession,
Brooke was also booked on a misdemeanor 3rd degree assault charge. She was
released from the Pitkin County jail on $11,000 bond. It's been almost two
years since the light shone on Mueller and Charlie Sheen during the infamous
domestic violence incident in Aspen when Charlie was arrested for assault after
allegedly roughing up Brooke.
"X-Factor" judges, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger evidently voted off the
wrong contestant Thursday night. Fans of Drew Ryniewicz have sent the two women
threats that have Paula and Nicole fearing for their lives. While you might
have thought Simon was upset with the girls for not giving Drew another chance,
it was nothing compared to some of the evil tweets and Facebook messages sent
their way.
In an interview with the New York Times, accused child molester Jerry Sandusky
claims Joe Paterno never confronted him about his alleged rape of a 10-year-old
boy in 2002 inside a Penn State locker room, despite having knowledge of the
incident. He also reportedly never talked to him about a similar molestation
complaint in 1998. During the interview, Sandusky insisted he never sexually
abused any child, claiming prosecutors have taken everything that he ever did
for any young person and twisted it to say that his motives were sexual.
Sandusky has been charged with 40 counts of molesting eight boys over 15 years
and is currently free on $100,000 bail.
The story about the Kim Kardashian/Kris Humphries mess is getting juicier and
juicier all the time. TMZ is reporting that Kris Humphries will not get any
money by fighting Kim Kardashian's attempt to divorce him because of an iron
clad signed prenup... If Kris gets the marriage annulled that would mean there
was never a marriage and as a result he still would have no claim to any of
Kim's earnings during their 72 days of bliss because no marriage would have
existed. However, Kris could file a claim against Kim for intentional
infliction of emotional distress based on fraud. If he could prove Kim used him
as a disposable groom for her reality show, he could get monetary damages. TMZ
also suggests that if Kris underperforms during the shortened Basketball season
and gets cut from the Nets, he could blame the distractions on his disastrous
marriage and try to sock Kim for the money he'd be out...and currently, Kris
pulls in $3.2 mil a year. Who knows...merely speculation....
Country singer, Mindy McCready and her 5-year-old son, Zander, were taken into
custody by police in Arkansas Friday night after McCready took him from his
Coral Gables, Fla. home. McCready's mother, Gayle Inge has official custody of
the child. According to TV Guide.com, McCready and her son were found in an
Arkansas home reportedly belonging to McCready's boyfriend. She hasn't been
charged with anything, but Zander will be returned to his grandmother's Florida
home. McCready and her mother have an ongoing custody battle over the child.
