Country artist, Gavin DeGraw, is in the hospital in New York after being
attacked by several people late Sunday. The singer, best known for his single "I
Don't Wanna Be" has been under observation at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan
since the attack. DeGraw has been on tour this summer and was in his hometown of
New York between a show in Scranton, Pa., on Saturday and a date with Maroon 5
and Train in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., scheduled for Tuesday. "They don't yet know
if he will be OK to make the show" on Tuesday, a source told Us Weekly. There's
no word yet on what provoked the attack or the extent of his injuries.

ESPN has hired Jerry Rice as an analyst. Rice will appear on NFL Live,
SportsCenter and ESPN's Audibles show, which will air weekly this fall on
Thursday nights.  Rice is scheduled to start at ESPN on Sept. 15 and will be
based on the West Coast. Rice is the NFL's all-time leader with 208 touchdowns,
1,549 receptions and 22,895 receiving yards. He was chosen by the NFL Network as
the greatest player in league history.

PBS has announced some of the celebrities who will be making guest appearances
on Sesame Street this coming season.  Over three dozen celebrities have said yes
to the program including Nicole Kidman and Robin Williams, Mark Ruffalo, Sofia
Vergara and Seth Rogen; talk-show hosts Craig Ferguson and George Lopez; and
musicians Jay Sean and Bruno Mars. "Sesame Street" begins its 42nd season on PBS
on September 26th.

A Minnesota woman who truly believes that Lindsay Lohan has hired a hit man to
kill her, filed a request for a restraining order against the actress.  In the
documents, Kathryn Marie Hinich claims she read an article on TMZ that said that
Lohan was trying to kill her.  Hinich says it's just not the actress who is
trying to kill her, but that she is the head of "some sort of conspiracy to kill
me."  The judge denied her request.

The Arizona Safeway grocery store where Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the
head have been so inspired by her recovery, they are planning to pay tribute to
Gabby by erecting a monument in her honor.  According to TMZ, the store is
hoping to install 3 new flagpoles at the spot of the January 8th shooting to
display the U.S. flag, a flag with a congressional seal and the state flag of
Arizona.  Organizers are also hoping to hang a plaque outside of the store to
commemorate Giffords' strength and fighting spirit.

Rocker Gavin Rossdale's 22 year old daughter, Daisy, is making her debut in
Playboy magazine this Friday.  While she has modeled before in Vogue and W
magazines, she is featured not only on the cover of the mag, but also in an 8
page pictorial in the September issue.  Daisy, whose mom, singer Pearl Lowe, had
a one-night stand with Rossdale, traveled from Britain to the Playboy Mansion in
Los Angeles to shoot the spread.

Benjamin Bratt is coming to the staff of "Private Practice" when it returns this
fall.  He will play the role of Jake Reilly, who is a cutting edge fertility
doctor who mixes it up with Addison. Jake and Sam will meet independent of their
relationships with Addison and hit it off. Eventually they figure out the woman
they have in common. "When that gets revealed, it's pretty fun to watch." Brat
says.

Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan has released a new book called, "Confidential:
The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon"  In it Michan reveals intimate
details about the split of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. According to Milchan,
Jen didn’t believe Brad was involved with Angelina while they worked together on
the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. During filming, the chemistry between Jolie and
Pitt was obvious, and pictures of the couple looking close on set didn’t help
Aniston believe her husband’s denials of an affair.  There was a trip to the
Caribbean for the couple and Pitt finally confessed his affair with Jolie and
told Jennifer he was in love with Angelina. Jen was furious and threw him out
and Pitt moved into Milchan’s home in Los Angeles home. Aniston filed for
divorce in March 2005 after intimate photos of Pitt, Jolie and Jolie’s adopted
son Maddox playing on a beach in Kenya were published in a tabloid.

Sarah Palin is a grandmother again! Palin's oldest child,  Track, and his wife,
Britta, are new parents of a baby girl born Sunday.  They named her Kyla Grace.  
Track and Britta Palin, were high school sweethearts who were married in May.

Director, Kenny Ortega, will be at the helm of the "Dirty Dancing" remake. The
film is a high priority for the studio meaning it very well could start
production in the next few months. Ortega is the choreographer of the original
film and directed the "High School Musical" movies.
