Former NFL great Charles "Bubba" Smith, who later starred in the "Police
Academy" movies, was found dead Wednesday afternoon in his Los Angeles home. He
was 66 years old. Authorities believed he died of natural causes. According to
the L.A. Times, Bubba's caretaker discovered the body and called police. His
autopsy will be performed later this week. Bubba, who stood 6'7", spent 9
seasons as a defensive end in the NFL, playing for the Baltimore Colts, Oakland
Raiders, and Houston Oilers. He won Super Bowl V with the Colts, but is most
famous for his role as the lovable Moses Hightower in 6 of the "Police Academy"
movies.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association has announced that comedian, Jerry Lewis will
no longer be their spokesman, their national MDA chairman or appear on their

a statement released by the organization.

The Hallmark Channel will be celebrating what would have been Lucille Ball's
100th birthday with a 48-hour marathon of classic "I Love Lucy" episodes.
Hallmark will air 96 total episodes beginning 6am Saturday, Lucille Ball's
actual birthday. 48 episodes will be aired each day with no repeats. Not only
was Lucy the first woman to head a production company, she was on the cover of
TV Guide more than any other star in history. "I Love Lucy," was the most
watched program in the nation for four out of six of its seasons, and is
considered one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

What are we all going to do now?  Miley Cyrus has been spotted smoking a
cigarette while frolicking in the sun with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. "I would
never smoke," wrote Cyrus in her 2009 autobiography. "I always say that for me,
smoking would be like smashing my guitar and expecting it to play. I'd never do
that to my voice, not to mention the rest of my body."  Role model, schole
model...

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences awards will be giving away
honorary Oscars to Oprah Winfrey, James Earl Jones and make-up artist Dick
Smith. Oprah will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, given to an
individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have
brought credit to the industry, while James Earl Jones will receive the honorary
Academy Award for lifetime achievement. Smith is also receiving a lifetime
achievement award.  Some are complaining that while Oprah is indeed a
humanitarian, her connection to the movie industry is minimal as compared to her
relationship with the television industry.  Cynics believe the award is a way to
get Oprah to perhaps host the Oscars the following year.
