Lindsay Lohan apparently loves Michael Jackson's former bodyguard, Alberto Alvares. A mutual friend contacted Lindsay about him, after seeing Lindsey get crushed by the paparazzi last week at New York's JFK Airport. So far, Lindsay thinks Alberto does his job "expertly" ... and plans to continue using him in high paparazzi situations.
"The Bachelorette" filming in Hong Kong Chris Harrison has tweeted a view of "my office" in Asia.
The Jersey Shore cast is getting a huge raise. The eight-member cast have completed their salary negotiations and it looks now like each member will be pulling down at least $100,000 per episode. With each season being 13 episodes, the boys and girls will be pulling down $1.3 million...not to mention getting an all expenses paid trip to Italy, where the next season is being filmed. If you remember in season two, the cast members had to work hard together to get $10,000 an episode.
In other Jersey Shore news...
A New Jersey lawmaker doesn't think "Jersey Shore" star, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is worth the $32,000 she was paid to talk about her lifestyle at Rutgers University. State Senator, Joe Kyrillos, says students attending public colleges shouldn't be required to fund entertainment they find objectionable through mandatory activity fees. The Republican lawmaker said he plans to sponsor legislation allowing students to opt into campus events requiring a fee. The lawmaker says many Rutgers students were uninterested or "flat out outraged" by Snooki's appearance.
When Oprah Winfrey announced she was publicly supporting Barack Obama for president back in 2008, she shocked many viewers and insiders who had always thought it best for talk show hosts to keep their political views to themselves. Now that Oprah has her own cable channel, she has decided to remain politics free in her public life. Winfrey's daily talk show ratings dropped in 2008 after her highly publicized political rally for Barack Obama.
Karina Smirnoff and her posing nude in Playboy doesn't come as any surprise to "Dancing With The Stars" because she got permission from ABC first. Not only that, but producers gave her one of the best partners, the point leader, Ralph Macchio. Her photo shoot was done before the season started and will appear in the May issue of Playboy. So much for that controversy.....
The first episode of a reality show set in a southern West Virginia coal mine has gotten the mine into trouble. Inspectors cited Cobalt Coal for two activities they saw on the show that they say endangered miners. The first, a miner used the wrong tool to pull down loose roof rock. The Mine Safety and Health Administration says the 12" pick it was too small for the job. MSHA also cited Cobalt for moving the continuous mining machine when it wasn't cutting coal and allowing a worker to walk alongside. Looking on the bright side, Cobalt Chief Executive Mike Crowder says the footage can help educate miners nationwide about the right and wrong way to do things.
Even though Pia Toscano was eliminated just last Thursday on "American Idol", she's already reaping benefits from being on the show. Toscano has already signed a recording deal with Interscope Records. The label is reportedly calling every top songwriter and producer in town and rushing to get her into the studio to put an album together.
and in other Pia news...Evidently the songbird just had to wiggle her finger, "come here" to get a date with "DWTS" pro dancer, Mark Ballas. The two had dinner Friday night and word is that there is going to be a repeat performance. Apparently, Pia has had her eye on Mark for several weeks and wrangled an introduction through a friend who is pals with DWTS contestant, Chris Jericho. She had her number passed on to Chris, who passed it on to Mark.
TMZ is reporting that the Lake Elsinore Storm, a local pro baseball team, is planning on holding Sheen-co de Mayo in Lake Elsinore, CA, in Charlie's honor next month. Everyone who attends gets a Charlie Sheen bobblehead wearing a Mexican sombrero and a baseball jersey. They will also be retiring the number 99 for the season -- the same number he wore in "Major League." Charlie has an open invite to attend, but so far, he hasn't responded.
Jessica is originally from Marietta, GA! I am probably one of the only real "Atlantans" left! I love Atlanta because there is always something going on, and it's just close enough to the beach to get away for a weekend.
