The Aurora Colorado movie theatre is opening today for the victims of that tragic shooting event.  They invited the survivors to attend, and supposedly offered them two free movie passes.  Wow.  Falls pretty flat in my book.  That might not have been the most sensitive thing to do, but I believe some type of outreach by theatre management is in good faith.  Maybe free movies for the rest of their lives would help a smidgeon? Check out an article here.

Theatre management IS trying to help survivors "heal" and put closure to this horrific nightmare, but this might have been better at the one year anniversary mark.  Or would it?  Maybe that would be prolonging the healing process?

For some reason, it seems too soon to offer a "closure" event for the survivors.  If the theatre wants to re-open, FINE.  It's a business.  But to PUBLICLY include the survivors doesn't sit well with me.  Not sure why.  Century is being sued big time for failure to adequately protect their patrons, and possibly this is one way to reassure future movie goers that they are safe in their theatre now.  I was sitting in Regal Austell 22 watching Skyfall and noticed an usher check the exit door to make sure it was locked.  Sobering.  And comforting.

What do you think?  Would it help you or hurt you to attend the re-opening today had it been you?  Hard to say, I know.

Stay safe and dry, and Know You're Loved. xoxo   --- Jordan
