Saw those New Jersey boys for the first time last night! Quite impressed with BonJovi at Philips Arena. Was never a huge fan, I only knew the radio air-play songs (and love them), but it was fun to watch these veterans work the crowd and their music.
I must admit I turn into a school girl when I see Jon smile (and sometimes he reminded me of Matt Damon)...thank goodness for the big screens, otherwise I would've been deprived! Richie Sambora had bouts of alcoholic problems in the past, but it looks like he's doin' just fine, struttin' his "strat" all night. He definitely ruled last night. The entire band was spot on, and the keyboardist caught my eye as well as my ear...he looked like Peter Frampton circa 1977, and he played a mean Hammond B3 !
So although I was never hugely into them, I wanted to see them. A band that's been around for 30 years is a band that deserves to be seen live. My BonJovi bucket list is now checked! And their new stuff is GREAT.
