Waaayyy back in the day when Sandy Springs was just an unincorporated suburb of the ATL, I sat in my parents' den in our Derby Hills neighborhood and watched our modular tv using the "clicker" to change channels...the remote actually  made a clicking sound when you'd depress the huge buttons!  But I digress, I would LOVE to watch the tennis matches and pull for my favorite guy with the blond locks.  Every boy-crazy girl I knew was in love with Bjorn Borg!  But sometimes I'd pull for the dark haired Spaniard with a fiesty charisma, Ilie Nastase.  Then of course there was the late, great, Arthur Ashe, Stan Smith, Vitas Gerulaitis, and remember John Newcombe with his mustache?!  OK, maybe not....but I bet you remember Jimmy Connors!  Those were my '70s tennis greats with John McEnroe just hitting the scene in '79 (at least on my radar).

And just for love of the game, I'd watch the girls rock it...especially the Battle of the Sexes with Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in '73!  I'd watch Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Evonne Goolagong, Virginia Wade.

How would these tennis greats fair now in this day and age with technology the way it is?  Uber-Super Stars!

We can find out Sat November 10th at the Gwinnett Arena for the 2012 PowerShares Series Tour...let's watch McEnroe and Connors (along with other tennis legends) compete in the Champions Shootout!  I'm giving away tix in my lunchbox thru Friday...just win my lunchbox at 11:35 weekdays.

I'll be there with my Stan Smith Addidas on!  Good luck, and thanks for taking us to work with you. xoxo                  JG
