My family tradition on Thanksgiving and Christmas is to pig out, then see a movie...ok,pig out, take a nap, THEN see a movie.   Saw LINCOLN a few days before the holiday and loved it.  Daniel Day-Lewis was outstanding.  I'm sure he'll be thanking Oscar next year.  The only thing I scratched my head about was the ending...it seemed to me there was a "false" ending...I thought for sure it would end at a certain point (don't wanna give anything away), but then it kept going for just a tad bit longer.  Maybe the test audience wanted a different way to close it out.  After all, you can't really change the way it ends!  I liked the "false" ending.

We also saw Life of PI on Thanksgiving.  Visually stunning.  And confusing!  But in a good way.  We talked and talked about it afterward...and if a film can get you doing that, then it's a good movie!

Dec 7th:  Hyde Park on Hudson with Bill Murray, Playing For Keeps, and if you've been watching Elizabeth McGovern in Downton Abby on PBS, you'll enjoy her in Cheerful Weather For the Wedding.  Opening the very next day is White Men Can't Dance.

I love foreign films, and Amour will open Dec 12 (probably at Regal Tara!)

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey due in theatres on Dec 14th which all the Lord of the Rings fans will camp out to see!  Also opening that day is Any Day Now.

Dec 19th is the Seth Rogan, Barbra Streisand pic The Guilt Trip.  Looks cute!

This Is 40  from the director of Knocked Up with one of my favorite actors, Paul Rudd...due out Dec 21st.  Also Jack Reacher with Tom Cruise opens.

Django Unchained from Quentin Tarantino stars Leonardo diCaprio as a bad guy!  Catch it on Christmas Day...and the other Leo film that was slated for Dec 25th release is pushed to May of next year.  It's The Great Gatsby remake of the '74 film with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow.

Also opening Christmas Day:  Parental Guidance with Billy Crystal, Better Midler, Marisa Tomei...and Les Mis(erables)

Brad Pitt's film is out soon, and I'm sure I'm missing a ton of others, but we'll have 'em listed on our homepage where you can get reviews, theatres and showtimes.
