With school approaching mid year, the drama is in full swing! Especially if you have a tween/teen aged kid. It's getting harder and harder to talk to them...and I guess that's the problem, I want to talk TO them not WITH them. Found a great article to help support your child thru their stress (and yes they DO have stress even though we don't judge it to be on par with ours). Maybe you can find some tips here.
I've started rephrasing questions so I don't get a "yep" or "nope" answer! Bottom line is I need to start listening better and without judging and trying to "fix" it. But isn't fixing everything the whole nature of being a MOM?! I guess the way to support my ladybug is by knowing when to lend a hand, and when to back off...and if I listen quietly enough, she'll tell me...in a word!
