Eh? What'd You Say?

By Jordan Graye

“Most Neglected Health Test for Men”

When I saw this headline on msn.com, I thought it was going to be about prostate cancer.  My dad died of prostate cancer back in ’06.  So YES, please get your guy to get his PSA checked regularly if over 50 years old.  And be careful about letting a doctor prescribe your man testosterone injections for depression, I truly believe that’s how my dad wound up with prostate cancer…he had those “treatments” for a year and a half.  Did they not monitor the PSA?  How can they be so careless? Even I know to do that!

Oh, and don’t get me started on the Carrollton girl with the flesh eating disease…how could they not give her prophylactic antibiotics when they sutured her, knowing she’d been in the Chattahoochee River?  And when she went back several times with complaints of pain and claiming the wound isn’t healing, they just gave her pain meds and sent her home.  Ok, I guess this is another blog rant for another day!  Sorry, check out this article here

What I was struck with was HEARING LOSS in men could be an indicator of other medical issues…like Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular disease.  So in addition to the PSA check, make sure your beau has his hearing checked.

And have you ever considered nursing school?!  You’re half way there with all the experience you’ve had keeping your family healthy so far!

Know You’re Loved,   and thanks for listening…
