Cheers to the Dark Horse! (or the Chestnut)

Dark Horse:

a) a usually little known contender (as a racehorse) that makes an unexpectedly good showing

b) an entrant in a contest that is judged unlikely to succeed

If you didn’t get a chance to catch the most exciting two minutes in sports on Saturday, you missed an amazing run for the roses.  The 138th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs was spectacular with an unknown horse bought for 11,000 and an unknown 25 year old jockey winning by a lenght and a half…and it wasn’t until the backstretch that the goosebumps emerged as this horse made his way out of a blurred pack of flailing legs and mud to overtake the leader for the victory.  This horse is just shy of becoming a multimillionaire in just over two weeks winning $750,000 at the Santa Anita Derby and now the KY Derby with a purse of $1,240,000.

I LOVE it when the underdog wins!  Somehow it speaks to me about the daily challenges I face and how they can be overcome…even the ones that seem overwhelmingly against me.  Love, Faith, Passion, and Persistence are our friends!  With them, I can say "I'll Have Another" !

Now, go forth and be the dark horse winner of this day called Monday.

Know You’re Loved, and Thanks for listening!
