Hard to believe we're closing out one and ushering in a new month this weekend. And with the advent of dogwoods and azaleas, April 1st marks Autism Awareness Month.  Monday, April 2nd, is Autism Global Awareness Day as designated by the United Nations.

So, if you happen to be in the Big Apple Monday, you'll see the Empire State Building lit up in blue.  Here in the A T L, if you're driving in Buckhead and see Jamison Shaw Salon in all blue, or driving downtown and see GA State Univ, The GA Aquarium, and Atlantic Station all lit up in blue, why don't you join in?  Light it up Blue yourself with blue lights at your front door, or out in the yard, or fly a blue flag on your car or just wear blue clothes Monday.  This will all culminate with the Autism Speaks Walk in Atlantic Station in May.

One of the chair persons for local Light It Up Blue is the amazing Buckhead chiropractor,Dr. Tim Kelly.  Check him out talking about this last year:   http://drtimkelly.net/2011/03/light-it-up-blue/

With the CDC announcing increasing numbers of children encountering autism, this is one of many ways to raise consciousness about it which hopefully translates into raising money for research.  You can also check out the national website at www.lightitupblue.net

Have yourself a great weekend. I'm on vaca next week, and the incomparable REECE is in for me! She rules.

Know You're Loved,

Jordan
