Harlem Globetrotters at Philips this Saturday night!  http://www.b985.com/events/detail/857688/

I used to watch their cartoon religiously on Saturday mornings back in the early '70s. LOVED IT.  Then I'd watch Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, remember that one?  That was the first time I ever heard the Cheech and Chong song "I Got a Basketball Jones"! Gosh, now I'm trippin' down memory lane too fast...my sister and I would wake up early on Saturday mornings and wonder why mom wasn't up and had breakfast ready like every other day, so we'd eat pop tarts til WE popped and watched all these cartoons like H.R Puffenstuff with the late Jack Wild (the adorable Artful Dodger in the film "Oliver"...I was in LOVE with him so I'd suffer through Puffenstuff)!  Oh, Oh, Oh, the Jetsons, School House Rock commercials, Josie and the Pussycats, Mighty Mouse, and my absolute favorite cartoon EVER:  Scooby Doo!  What were yours?

Hard to believe the Harlem Globetrotters cartoon only lasted 2 years ('71 and '72 I think?)...Don Kirshner (remember Saturday NIGHTS with his rock concert show?!) was the series' music director, and Neil Sedaka (Bad Blood, Laughter in the Rain) co-wrote most of the songs.  Those were the days!

A new round of globetrotters prancing into Philips Arena Saturday night for some amazing shenanigans. Take the family and check it out for some cross-generational fun!  Ok, gotta get off Memory Lane and back to work! Thanks for being here.

Know You're Loved,

Jg
