Venus makes her transit between earth and the sun around 6pm here on the east coast tonight.  It's a rarity...Back in the day it took many dedicated scientists/people 243 years to document the event from start to finish (4 transits within 243 years) and publish in the Farmer's Almanac. We'll need a northwestern exposure I believe, but check it out here.  And NO, 3D glasses aren't cool! But welders goggles are as long as they are "14"...

Fernbank Science Center is a good place to start if you're looking for a place to view the Venus Transit.  And if you miss it, no doubt you can find it on the internet!  (what did we do before the net?!)  NASA should have it for us.
