Our hearts and minds are still reeling from the Sandy Hook school shootings in Newtown Connecticut, and Godspeed to the family members grieving for their lost loved ones during what should be a time to unite with loved ones.  Tragic.

I'd heard about the shooter's frequent use of a very violent video game and speculation about whether this played a part in his lethal decision.   While Gun Control is certainly an issue to address, maybe we're missing the mark (no pun intended).  What about Video Game Control?  I think there was a ban on this particular one, at least for advertising it on TV during the day in the U.K.

And what about TV show content?  If we weren't so desensitzed to "offing" people, then maybe we wouldn't look upon ourselves or others as expendable.

The bottom line is good mental health.  If I think highly of myself, then I will most likely project that onto you and automatically hold you in high regard as well (unless or until you prove me wrong)!

My first thought was "we're working backwards here"...moving from the outer to the inner....going from gun control/video game control/TV content control, to the inner life of mental health.  But then I remembered about peeling the layers of the onion!  So of course our society starts with these outward things first until it can embrace the inner world.

Our society is only as emotionally healthy as its members, so I guess the best gift I personally can give the world is to move through my own inner mucky stuff, clear it out, and feel good about myself.  Wow, how great will this be when we all do it?!

I love what MJ had to say about it!

KNOW YOU'RE LOVED and thanx 4 listening...xoxo  JG
