Erin Code of Beavercreek talks on her cell phone while using a crosswalk in downtown Dayton. Much like the dangers facing distracted drivers, experts have increasing concern about the hazards of pedestrians distracted by electronic devices.
Gotta brag on my Ladybug for a second...for years she begged for a cell phone, and for years I kept saying "When you're 13!" Well, last year when her grades were slipping a bit, I told her if she got straight A's on her final report card then she'd get a phone. She missed it by one "B"...OUCH! Having a tad bit of mercy, I said that if she got into any accelerated classes in the fall, then she could get a phone.
YAY! She did it. I couldn't be more proud!
Oooops, OK, so now I gotta get her a phone...which is the easy part...the hard part is which plan??? It would be easy to just plug her into a family plan with MY carrier, but it wouldn't be the cheapest. So these days I'm combing the internet looking for a "win-win" for us both.
