Is the CRCT over for you and your family yet? My daughter has Monday and Tuesday of next week left to go. With the strictness of how this testing is administered, I worry about the kids. Like not eating lunch until 2pm although they can bring snacks, and what about bathroom breaks? But what happens when you have an "emergency" in the non-bathroom times? I just read an article about this little girl in Kindergarten (YES, Kindergarten). Broke my heart:
Are we turning into some of the eastern countries that can be stiflingly strict? All for what? So the school can get the money it needs to teach effectively? And in the wake of the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal, the ruler is slamming even harder on the knuckles. Yes, there need to be standards, but sometimes the harshness of rigidity does nothing except hinder acceleration. What are your thoughts? Is your school system effictive? Is your child thriving at school? Any horror stories? Pray tell...
