My family and some neighborhood friends went to Punta Cana for Spring Break. It was ok.  Yes, just ok.  What, am I crazy? How can a vaca in the Caribbean be just “ok?”  Other than the Dominican Republic airport officials being rip-off artists and total jerks, it’s because I don’t know how to relax and do nothing.

The closest I came to that peaceful state was being in the sea and letting the waves drift my overstuffed body here and there at will.  THEIR will, not mine!  While floating in the crystal blue green water I realized that I could’ve saved a boat load of money if I'd learned how to do this at home… Maybe not floating in the actual ocean, but certainly relaxing as if I were!

Why is it we don’t allow for precious time to do NOTHING?  It is so important.  As a 6 year old in Houston, I remember lying in my friend’s backyard looking up at the huge Texas sky and daydreaming of having my own horse, riding through trails, jumping obstacles, and wearing tall boots and a show jacket.  It only took me 42 years, but all that daydreaming finally materialized!

Doing nothing and daydreaming are the keys to creativity.  Creativity is vital to our souls.  Found an article to help me, and I hope you can pull some things from it as well:

Hope your spring break was rejuvenating and relaxing! xoxo
