If you thought Miley Cyrus's now-infamous VMA performance was risque, you haven't seen anything yet. The 20-year-old former Disney star dropped her much-anticipated "Wrecking Ball" music video today (September 9) and we're almost at a loss for words because homegirl is fully naked. While writhing on a massive swinging steel ball. And smashing stuff with a sledgehammer. No, we aren't making this up.
Directed by notorious celeb photog Terry Richardson, the 3-minute, 42-second masterpiece starts with a closeup of Miley's face, Sinead O'Connor-style. A single tear rolls down her cheek, and her big, blue eyes are full of wonder and sadness all at the same time. It's actually quite beautiful, and for a moment you think she might be pulling off something truly brilliant. But then she appears in a pair of itty bitty white undies and combat boots, and proceeds to smash the concrete walls surrounding her. OK, we get it. It's, like, totally symbolic. But why can't she wear clothes?
We don't have time to ponder the question, because within seconds Miley's fully naked and sitting spread eagle on a giant wrecking ball that's swinging back and forth like a pendulum. Yeah, we're slightly jealous of her bangin' bod, but our eyes! Our eyes! We may never fully recover. And just when we think it can't get any more uncomfortable, Miley starts making out with her sledgehammer. We're pretty sure it's supposed to be sexy in an artistic kind of way, but it just looks unsanitary.
On the other hand, we have to give Miley some props for being that secure in her body and not giving a crap what anyone else thinks. To the left, Anna Wintour.
