The soundtracks are chock full of Hall & Oates, Christopher Cross, Alan Parsons, Kansas, Bill Withers and Journey – a perfect fit for the smooth-stepping, polyester-suit-rocking seventies sailors that ATL knows and loves. Don’t act like your not impressed! YRR will open the show with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. The Dark Side of the Rainbow (DSOTR) is the debatably coincidental pairing of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon as a sound track to the first 43 minutes of The Wizard of Oz. PleaseRock will let you experience the stoner myth in live performance via a giant projection of the film and a precise recreation of the album. When you press play on the Dark Side on the third lion roar before the movie begins, there are dozens of eerie ways in which the music and movie match up. It’s a musical tightrope act, since the entire band has to stay precisely lined up with the film to maintain the pacing.
